You pointed out exactly why I loved Funny Story so much but couldn't grasp. I also loved Just for the Summer. Have you read Abby Jimenez' Part of your world? It's the first in the series ( Part of your world, Yours truly, Just for the Summer) and it makes a couple of events from Just for the Summer even more impactful.

Highly recommend The Square of Sevens for 2025.......it's a historical mystery revolving around the tarot card reading technique called the Square of sevens. It has soo many elements to the story and is epic in its scope.......and the ending will have your jaw on the floor.
