@@shininngg I was scared of burn in too. I held off on buying one for almost 3 years but after watching all of the long-term burn in tests on KZbin, I decided that burn in is something I should no longer be scared of. The technology has matured enough that I felt confident spending the money on it. Plus, with all of the pixel shifting and pixel cleaning features built into modern OLED monitors, burn in is virtually a non-issue these days. And if for some reason you do get burn in, almost every OLED monitor comes with a 3 year burn in warranty that will replace the monitor.

The G8 OLED even has a toggle for that aspect ratio. Really great for competitive FPS where its so clear with its high PPI but also extends FOV so much further than regular 16:9. I was timid to upgrade to OLED for a long time as I find I've gotten used to leaving my IPS/TN monitors on for long periods of time, but OLED has changed my life. I'm actually watching content on my main monitor again (youtube videos, tv shows, etc) that I found I wasn't when using a benq TN for the competitive edge it offers. I think this is the perfect balance of leaning towards a really strong competitive monitor, but being really solid for media consumption too. I just use all the OLED health features I can, and turn the monitor off when I walk away from my desk although my PC may still be on. I went with the 1440p 360hz MSI btw, and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

FYI there are tail-less USB-C female to DisplayPort male (or HDMI) adapters that can make this easy, and they also have USB-PD input that they forward to the laptop. This could be a nice way to connect to such a display. I prefer the bring my own cable boring nice Thunderbolt cable vs having specialized cables for this kind of thing. The downside is they are only rated to 4k60 but I'm not sure if that's really a limit or just what usb-c was rated for at the time; I tend to think it's a pure electrical connection & not going to limit things more than what your laptop would do. I got the LG OLED in January, least responsible financial decision i have made this year, but DAMN. It looks SO good. My expectations were high, but it delivered everything I expected and more. I was using UltraGear 27GP850-B (1440p 185hz IPS) which is pretty decent, but the oled blew just me away. Never going back to older technologies for my primary display. One thing worth researching before you buy however is the flickering issue with freesync/gsync, Im not sure about the newer generation, but you cannot really use variable refresh rate on the older LG models - the brightness noticeably flickers all the time. So even if the panel is g-sync compatible, you will have a bad time if you expect it to work flawlessly. I personally just turned it off all together.

If u have a high-end PC & Money just buy it, it will take you a few days to get used to it due to the size but I ended up pushing it a bit further, and that worked for me. You can switch from 4K to 1080p mid-game with no issue unless u have a second monitor Sometimes ur game will switch to 2nd me monitor just saying

I can tell you from experience (got it 2 weeks ago) that the text clarity is fine with the ASUS PG32UCDM, you don't see any colours at the edges at all. Like zero, completely nothing. This is obviously only noticeable with a magnifying glass lol when I'm getting extremely close to the screen, like touching my nose type of close, I can see kinda a minimal greenish shadow/line at the top of each letter. And only on a dark background like KZbin comments for example. On a white background, I can't see anything that shouldn't be there. And again - from anything further away than nose touching distance, you can't see anything anyway. I had an IPS panel before, my QD-OLED's text clarity is def not worse than that. Looks completely fine. And regarding light and reflections - yeah, I always have the curtains down when I'm on my pc during the day (already did that with my IPS monitor) and I also don't have any windows right behind or in front of me to begin with. Only left and right of me, but those are like 3m and 6m away from my desk. I also don't have any lamps behind me. So even during the day I don't get any reflections. I can't notice anything. What I can attest to, tho, is the upgrade in picture quality in a dark room. But that's obvious - a monitor with very good colours that pop out, glossy coating, will look even better when it's in a dark room, compared to the same display in a bright(er) room. Doesn't mean it's bad otherwise, not at all. I was worried about the colour fringing of those 4k240 QD-OLED panels, but my worries were totally unfounded. Also I had a matte finish before on my IPS, and from now on I def won't ever go back to a matte finish. I do understand the passion some have about that. There are certain situations a matte or semi-matte coating is the only reasonable option tho, so (semi)glossy isn't the best option for everyone!
