I would love to hear the story of the two wedding rings. It doesn’t always have to be about beauty. I am very sorry for your loss. I remember feeling sorry for myself the year I was to turn 40. Oh poor woe me. Well, my father passed away later that same year. All of a sudden, my woes were very insignificant. I truly don’t want to offer platitudes but here is what I can say. Time will soften the pain. It will never go away completely and you have a difficult year of “firsts” to get through....but it will get better. AND, you have two delicious little children to help getting over the pain. I am sending you a big Canadian hug. BTW...that lighting fixture is awesome. How lucky for you to have a year of garden surprises. LOVELY

I'm always amazed how British gardens have daffodils growing directly on the lawn. Looks so fresh and wild!

they do have a way of spreading. where i live there are daffodils in a small field in an urbanized area, which is a clear sign that at some point there was house a there. :)

So sorry for your loss Ruth. I just lost my Dad as well. I wish I could say something brilliant that would make you feel better and lessen the pain, but the best I can do is say it gets more bearable as time goes by. That's what people tell me anyway. I think I may still be in shock cause all I really want to do is get through the day. I keep dropping things, losing things and I can't remember anything. I think it is important to take time to mourn in a way that is unique to you. I share lessons learned from my father, and it seems to help. Sending you a comforting hug in thought. Take care! xxx

Given what you’ve been through with everything and still trying to get the house to a standard your happy with and maintain that it might be good for you to have a break?
