My Top 75 Castlevania Songs (#25-#1)

Last section of my Castlevania list is finally here featuring songs from #25 to #1.
This is a list of my favorite Castlevania songs. Why top 75? At first I thought of doing just a top 10 but there were way too many songs that I wanted to include. Soon it was already a top 50 list. Eventually it got from 60 to 70 and finally to 75 songs. This could have easily been a top 100 but I wanted to draw a line somewhere earlier since it had already been quite a big work. I listened through over 1100 songs (that included game over and stage clear jingles plus tons of vampire killer and bloody tears arrangements/remixes so the real number of considerable songs is not that big). After first listening round I cut the number of songs down to about 230 from which I then chose my ultimate favorites after couple more listens. I didn't choose hastily, the order of the songs was formed over months of listening.
So I decided to split this one into 3 videos since it's really long list. I'll let every song loop about once (30 seconds or 3 minutes long song, no matter) and that's one reason why this became so long. Castlevania series has without a doubt some of the best videogame music ever so I hope you have time to watch the whole thing.
Remember, the order of songs is completely based on personal opinion. If your favorite is somewhere in lower positions it doesn't mean that I don't like it. I even had to leave some really good songs out of top 75. I decided to always use the original version of the song. Also no songs that have been originally from other game like Go! Getsu Fuhma, Ryu Kokki or In Search Of The Secret Spell (this one would've been actually pretty high if it wasn't originally from other game).
The pictures were put together using GIMP. I got better using it over time so some of the first images are simpler and probably more boring than the later ones. Here's a list of sites where I got almost all of the pictures used in video:

Battle of the Holy is SUCH a masterpiece that pretty much nobody's ever heard of. I am SO SO glad that it made it up to Top 3. Also, not surprised that this video is filled with SotN pieces! That game and its OST is one the best ever made!! Amazing top 100, bro!

@Lpoeser I actually knew immediately when I started making this list which song would be #1. While I already would change some picks, that one is quite easily my favorite. About DoS, I think I wouldn't change the number of music from the game but instead I'd substitute Scarlet... for Into the Dark Night and drop two highest picks a little and raise Pinnacle some positions... Oh well, what's done is done. I could've picked 10+ songs from both SotN and CoD but wanted some variety.

Tragic Prince at the top, good choice. My favorite is probably either Heart of Fire from Aria of Sorrow or Jaws of a Scorched Earth from Order of Ecclessia

Pretty cool list. Of course mine would have been different but I appreciate your taste in music. Some of my personal favourites were missing though, like "The Arena" from Aria Of Sorrow :( My personal #1 is perhaps your 23: "Clock Tower"... Close enough :)

I also really liked Top Floor and even Chaotic Realm. Unpopular opinion I know. Dawn had a good soundtrack, but I thought Aria's was superior, mostly. Scarlet Battle Soul is still dope though. Also enjoyed many of the remixes from Circle of the Moon. Best Vampire Killer/Observation Tower, and Rotating Room/Underground Warehouse + Aquarius/Underground Gallery.

I thought Bloody Tears and The town music was awesome. I think Simon's Quest had potential to be great. It had the right idea, just executed incorrectly. But maybe that is due to the time frame and technological limitations during that time. It was the first MetroidVania game, but it was running on the NES still. Maybe if they remake the game for PS4 with better graphics and detailed storyline and better bosses and all that, that would be awesome. But it is also the first Castlevania where you actually get to travel all around the place and not just Wallachia i think. You go to other towns and all that.

i think sinking old sanctuary(bloodlines), inner quarters(aria of sorrow) and within these Castle walls(castlevania ii) should be in this list, also believe that mortvia aqueduct and wood carving should be in top 25 under, for the rest is a very good list, but my number one is between iron blue intention and wicked child

In OoE soundtrack there is a version with different instruments and also the intro version of the song. In this list we have the "normal" version. But 3 versions of the same song in the soundtrack, yeah.

Hey, i'm very agree with all this list. It's hard to say which is the best track of whole Castlevania series, but Tragic Prince is not a bad option. Some tracks that i would have add to this list (i know is impossible to have every one of them lol) are Unholy Vespers form Order of Ecclessia, the final fight theme of Castlevania III an Clockwork mansion (the rotating room) form Super Castlevania IV. Great job in this list, amazing, congratulations.

Great list. I had a question though - I don't thinking "Beginning" from Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse is included? Did I miss it? IMO that is the best song of the 8-bit era, so I was surprised to not see it.

@Dreamer I agree with you that Symphony of the Night is one of the greatest Castlevania titles be it 2 OR 3D, But you cannot forget Rondo of Blood and Dracula's Curse. Without those two titles SotN I fear wouldn't exist. Thanks. Abyss Stairway is actually arrangement of "Sinking Old Sanctuary" first heard in Castlevania Bloodlines so it couldn't be here. Sinking Old Sanctuary was of course one of the songs that were really difficult to be left out of this list but there are too many good songs, sacrifices had to be done.

I was disappointed you didnt list dance of Gold or requiem of the Gods in there. I am kinda biased for Sotn but those songs are better than the ones that barely made the list

Well, #1 at least wasn't that predictable (especially after I saw #2), you had me guessing. Fun fact: Bloody Tears was composed for Haunted Castle (the level even has paintings which cry blood), but it ended up being used in Simon's Quest too, and that game got released earlier. A bit surprised to see this much Dawn of Sorrow though. Most of the game's music wasn't very memorable for me.
