I’ve never heard anyone else mention being stressed out by films or shows, but I’m the exact same. I love this video and can’t wait to check out your suggestions that I haven’t seen yet. ❤

Wonderful idea. "While you were sleeping" is one of my favourites in the low stakes category. I watched Amelie in the cinema and with the same people I saw "Chocolat". I love them both. "The holiday" is always a favorite in that category too. "Down with love" is an underrated fantastic funny film. "the good witch" is a very low stakes series which I use to play to learn other languages and escape for a while. "indiscreet" is a lovely quiet comedy with cary Grant and Ingrid Bergmann ❤

oh my gosh I forgot about Down With Love. I really love all those old Rock Hudson Doris Day films and DWL is so much like it! I'll have to give the Good Witch another shot. It looks so cute. Thanks so much for sharing and being a part of my channel. xo

This list is great! There are films listed that I probably haven’t watched since the 90’s but worthy of a revisit. Have you ever seen Somewhere in Time? It’s an old Christopher Reeve movie. So sweet. I highly recommend it. 😊

I enjoyed hearing your low stakes movie list. I have enjoyed several of these films although I must confess I love more the drama in films. I want to be gripped by a film so much that I’m thinking about it long after I’ve finished it. I do love some low stakes tv shows though, like Seinfeld and The Office and Schitts Creek and King of Queens and Friends and Cheers and stuff like that. I am eagerly waiting for Bridgerton to come back. I think it’s coming up in April. I hope so…LOL Thank you for sharing beautiful Christine. ❤

I do love the drama too! lol I am DYING for Bridgerton! I can't wait. Penelope is my favorite character, so I am just beside myself with anticipation! And talk about beautiful costumes! Sigh. I love Shitts Creek! You may need to do a video of your fave films Rachele! lol Thanks for watching! xoxo

LOVE this list and I too need low stakes viewing. I actually watch anime a lot for this. I think the cartoon image helps hold a container for not evoking as much emotional labor for me and it is gorgeous. There is a category of anime called Slice of Life that is this style, laid back just day in the life and they can be so sweet and inspiring. Barakamon comes to mind as a wonderful series that is sweet, inspiring, and makes me laugh. I also grew up on old black and white comedy films that were low stakes high banter which I enjoy. Or sometimes I watch films because I adore the aesthetic (I have a thing for 1960s-1970s cheesy spy shows like The Avengers the make up and dresses are so good and the scripts are ridiculous). Definitely am adding a few of your suggestions to my list, thanks as always for your inspiration!

Ooh! I'll have to check out the Slice of Life anime! That sounds amazing. Omg I love old black and white films! I recently subscribed to Criterion and have been working my way through the Gothic Noir films. I can't get enough of the transatlantic accent. The dialogue was often so witty and unexpected too! I like how they are mini plays. The 60s shows are such a pleasure! I feel like Batman and Robin tried to rip the Avengers! But we know who was first. lol Thanks as aways for watching and the great suggestions! Hugs! oxoxo

@@XtineRoseElle oh my gosh Gothic Noir I would love to hear more. My father introduced me as a little girl to hard boiled detective stories so I adored the Thin Man movies and was the only six year old girl with a crush on a man with a pencil line moustache (I still adore William Powell and his quit dialogue honestly miss this short of flirtation in contemporary film and story).

My go to low stakes are Pretty Woman and Legally Blonde. You can probably tell my age 😂 . I would say sleepers that others aren’t aware of are When in Rome, so damn cute, Danny Devito, need I say more?? Most recent, I loved the Barbie movie. All the feels 💗💗💗. I definitely need to check some of these out.

I haven't seen Pretty Woman in a while! I need to rewatch. I like the actress that was in Sex Lives and Videotape. So cute! I wonder what happened to her? I'll have to check out when in Rome! Thanks for watching Jill! xo

Napoleon Dynamite!!!! Yes! OMG I can't believe you listed this but ABSOLUTELY YES! These are so good! I struggle with high stakes because I come away feeling like I was the one in the situation and it makes me grumpy or depressed 😅 Its not fun. Honestly it's why I loved learning Nora Roberts is a low stakes (at least that's how I'd classify her writing style) writer. Its just easy to get into and easy to leave (move on). Sleepless in Seattle is 🥹🥹💗💗

So true! I gotta give Sleepless in Seattle another chance. Remember that one in which Meg Ryan played Alfred Einstein's granddaughter? Yes, Nora Roberts is great for this very reason! lol Thanks for watching Shanna! Pedro for president!! lol
