Good video. I built the Academy 1/350 version and added photo-etch from Tom's Modeling, as well as, lighting. So many parts do not fit and you won't get much help from the instructions. I understand the later version of this kit had improvements making construction a bit easier. Retrospectively, I should have saved up for the Trumpeter. I think that will be my next Titanic kit.

Lol I built the No 10 on the list 🥹 the jigsaw Titanic and it was well enjoyable 👍 I love the detail of the more craftsmanship of the finer Titanics but my eyesight wouldn’t allow me the privilege of building one of these beautiful boats ❤️ your video was well enjoyable and many thanks 😎🤟

I am currently working on the Trumper Kit. I have the Amati kit as well, but have never built it. It looks very difficult to build and since the windows are decals I put it aside until I can afford the photo etched kits that one can get for this model.

I agree. The windows being decals were discouraging to me. I fully intend to light all my Titanic Models but that makes it extremely difficult. Best of luck with your build!

Hey, you forgot the Lego model! Hehe! Well, actually, that model might suprise you. I have it and it's really easy and fun to build and actually pretty detailed also. I am thinking about buying the Occre model, because it is a wooden model and because of the price of about €250,- which is affordable for me. An important note (I think), most of these model kits are missing 2 collapseble lifeboats. There were 2 on the officers housing next to the front funnel, which all models have, but there were also 2 collapseble lifeboats next to the front 2 lifeboats and those are missing with most kits. At 13:20 you can see that Billing Boats has got it just right. Agora and Trumpeter have it wrong, which is a shame because there weren't enough lifeboats already. And the centre propellor had 3 blades, not 4. Lego has got that one right. ;)

You know, I just actually found out the LEGO one existed. I like the way it separates to show the different sections in between the decks. I will never be able to afford it though. Perhaps I will do an update video on new TITANIC kits and include that one. You know, I really don't care for the OCCRE one, only because the windows are decals and cannot be lit without cutting them all out. They do seem to be coming down in price though.

Maybe you can find a 2nd hand someday, that will drop the price immensly. I've looked and the Amati kit and you're right, that one looks much more detailed and accurate. Thanks for the video!

I know you have a lot of experience with model building, I found a rather new type of model by MU titanic laser cut which looks interesting but very little info. If possible do you know about it and what are your comments should I decide to pull the trigger and buy it. I have not built a lot of models however I’m a decent woodworker. Hello and Happy New Year to you as well! To answer your question, unfortunately I do not know about the MU Titanic. Is that the laser cut wood? The only similar thing I have done is the 3D Puzzle type models of the TITANIC and the Flying Ducthman. I have done a couple of Metal Earth ones as well. I do have the OCCRE RMS TITANIC and the Keel and the Bulkheads seem to go together similar to the Laser Cut model your referencing. But I have not done that kit as it is not lightable. Sorry, I wish I could have been more help. Best of luck with your build should you decide to get one! =-)

Ok thanks for your response, I still haven’t given up on the academy 14226 which so far I cannot find any, should I find one what would be a fair price to pay. With that said I’m also looking at the 14215 which looks similar without led light kit, is that they only difference between the two ships. Thanks again for your help!

@@Wha2les Well, it it is the kit I am thinking of, it comes with an LED strip and is molded in color. If you have limited modeling skills, then that one could be an affordable option for a right out of the box build. However, if you are more experienced, then the models I go over in the video are preferable to me.

Je ne connais pas le modèle auquel tu fais référence. J'ai référencé plusieurs des modèles à l'échelle 1/400 de Revell, Airfix et Academy. En fait, l'édition premium de l'édition limitée 1/400 Academy que j'ai mise au numéro 5

Im close to finish the same model hachette amati 1:200 scale. It is so difficult to built a lot of parts doesnt match and instructions sometimes arent clear. You have to plan alot before making any step otherwise you will find out lack of accesibility or poor finish quality. Good luck with yours :)
