The coolant reservoir was empty. The oil was low and dirty. Hmm. Refilled the reservoir. Added a quart of oil. The tires were under inflated. They were at least some kind of Michelin and they looked ok. I was worried about crossing the Mojave desert, so I bought a Garmin satellite emergency InReach device. We took I-40, East Bound. @sigmahyperion9554 ай бұрын
Any decent tire shop should do this for you and automatically reduce the cost of your replacement tire by the pro-rated value of the old one as a replacement claim. No need for the customer to do anything and, in general, customers (in lieu of dealers/distributors) are discouraged from initiating these claims themselves as they are a bit onerous for both parties to handle after-the-fact. The only potential hang-up here is that as an OE tire, it has no road hazard warranty. So a dealer would want to make certain there was no indication of an outside cause to the blow-out before preemptively extending warranty coverage.

As I was leaving Gila Bend, Arizona, I had to make the split-second decision between directly running over a few pieces of shredded tire on the road or merging in front of a pickup truck. In reality, I probably could’ve merged safely, but at the time I didn’t want to take the chance, so I decided to just send it and run the tire pieces over directly. From that point on, my car made a rattling noise at low speeds/idle and a groaning noise while accelerating. But it wasn’t leaking, wasn’t overheating and drove completely fine. Despite leaving Phoenix in the morning that day, I got into Albuquerque at around 9 pm that night because I was stopping every 50 or so miles to check if my car was leaking. But it was a champ, and got me the entire rest of the way to Ohio. The second hiccup was in New Mexico, when I kicked up a pebble that hit my windshield and cracked it. The crack was absolutely tiny, but it was still something I needed to fix ASAP due to the freezing weather in Ohio. And when I got it sealed it the day after arriving to Ohio, the glass repairman told me that I saved the windshield by getting it repaired so quickly. As for fixing what the tires caused, according to the mechanic, “half a dozen things were bent out of place underneath the car.” They charged me $122 to fix everything. I’ll take it!

I like your videos, but at 13:20 we finally hear you say the "truck did great". So, it did go well, for the whole trip. The tire isn't Toyota's fault, the rock isn't Toyota's fault. The hitch cover, OK, if there is a TSB for it great. So the ride with the vehicle went fantastic, everything worked great as far as the vehicle is concerned. I can't figure out the purpose of this video, I thought it was a legit Toyota issue with your title, but it handled everything you threw at it as you said around 16 minutes in.

Fellow 2024 Toyota owner here. I have a Corolla Hybrid LE. Purchased in April of 2024. It had 26 miles on it. I now have 18k miles on it. No issues at all. However, do not go by the maintenance intervals that Toyota suggest. Every 5k miles change the oil! Do NOT wait and do 10k mile intervals. I took my Corolla in at 5k and I requested and made sure they changed the oil. At 10k, they changed the oil again, rotated the tires and did all the inspections and dumb stuff. At 15k, I did another oil change. At 20k, Im changing the oil again, alignment and rotate the tires.

When a tire blows out like that it’s because it’s under inflated. Doug probably didn’t check tire pressure before his return trip, had a slow leak, which led to the blowout. Never rely on the onboard tire pressure monitoring system, they are unreliable.
