Always great listening to your talks, Father. I just finished the audio book of "Open Letter to Confused Catholics" by Archbishop Lefebvre. How blessed I am to have access to an SSPX Chapel. I hope and pray the modern Catholic's will come to the realization that the TLM is not somewhere we go for community coffee and donuts, but rather to find the source of the salvation of our souls. There is only one Catholicism and Archbishop Lefebvre knew that. Pax vobis

You make a really great point that most people don't consider. Most of the people who call themselves a "Trad" are intimately familiar with the Novus Ordo. Whereas, most Novus Ordo going people are not familiar with the TLM. So when a N.O. Catholic criticizes the Trad movement, they are usually arguing from a place of ignorance. Whereas a Trad who criticizes the N.O. mass, is coming from a place of experience. A vegetarian friend of mine once bragged about how some amazing salad she had was the best tasting meal a person could ever eat. I thought, "I've had your best meal ever. And I'd call it a great first course. But you've never had my best meal ever. And if you've never had a medium rare prime rib from a high end steak House, or a coq au vin from a fine French restaurant, osso buco from an italian restaurant, then don't tell me your salad is the best meal a person could have. You have a self imposed, limited taste experience. And what's worse, you are repulsed by what could possibly be YOUR best meal ever, and you just don't want to give it a try." I've been surprised to find that many N.O. Catholics have a repulsion to the Trad movement, so they criticize without trying it, and insist that the N.O is the best mass ever. For me, it was a great first course. But now I've moved on to the main dish.

Omgosh Father, I didn’t known the Eucharist was Jesus either until I was 40, and a Protestant told me what we believe in. People have accused me of lying. This was an amazing talk! The Restore Tradition Conference is held every year in August at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish in Littleton, and you can probably call there for information on next year's conference. They always have excellent speakers.

@@Marcia-fw3wzyes, I’ve known of the conference for the past two years but never know the dates. I haven’t been to OLMC in a few years because I’m way up north and haven’t had the means/resources of getting there. Hopefully next year I’ll remember to register ahead of time…then again I don’t know when registration opens…oh the distance and inability to become a regular parishioner there 😢😅

Superb. The number of seminarians in 1965 included those in high school seminaries. There are virtually no such seminaries now. So the numbers given make it look worse than it is...not that the situation is good.

Please explain to me why JPII’s Luminous Mysteries are viewed so negatively by Traditionalists? Just because it’s not EXACTLY what Mary gave to St. Dominic?
@seli3852 ай бұрын
Mary prayed the Psalter daily. It consists of the 150 Psalms. Respectively, the Three mysteries of the Rosary reflect Mary’s Psalter; a hundred and fifty Hail Mary’s In addition to that the Rosary also allowed us humans to reflect on these moments of precious history in small digestible increments. The human attention span is typically 15 mins and that being said each mystery can be said in a fifteen min time span. How cool is that. By including the Luminous mysteries will disrupt the Psalter as it was intended to be. I don’t think Mary would have made that kind of mistake.
@Myohomoto2 ай бұрын
I love the luminous mysteries! They were first recommended in 1955. And again in the 1962 Missal. First formed in Malta. Pope John Paul II just formalised it and put it forward. I think so Trads resist it just based on JP II endorsement.
@Ahomesteadersdream2 ай бұрын
@@Myohomoto yes, I think so as well. But really want to hear their reasons why. As I discuss more with Traditionalists in my community as well, it seems pretty much anything post Vatican 2 is rejected simply for that reason (that it’s post Vatican 2), and that includes massive teachings as well such as JP2’s theology of the body. There needs to be a sincere communion with God, and deep reverence and respect for the Eucharist, but to reject everything and anything simply as a result of modernism is not ok.

The offering Cain was not pleasing to God therefore how can the Mass of Cain be pleasing if it ( N. O. Missae) offers up the same offering, which is “the fruit of the vine and work of human hands” ? And not to mention the rites of ordination were altered leaving many of the ordinations in question. Why take the chance of attending the new mass and risk your salvation. Puzzled as to why Fr. would be okay with the New Mass.

There's mass, NO, and then there's The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. "Taste and see..."
@seli3852 ай бұрын
No, the New Mass is a complete rupture of the Old and New. It is the offering of Cain. Which is the work of human hands. God was displeased with Cains offering because he offered up the worst of his harvest while his brother Abel offered up an unblemished lamb; the unspotted lamb foreshadowed the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to be; the Holy Victim, the Unspotted Victim which is the Jesus Christ Our Lord being offered up. In the New Mass they offer up the fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It is not the same.
