Joël Robuchon knew how to bring the notion of sublimely simple within the extraordinary MGM Grand hotel and Casino. A few yards from thousands of slot machines and close to le cirque du soleil, l'atelier de Joël Robuchon offers its restaurant concept with a counter and its opened kitchen drawing the attention thanks to its large windows. Once inside this all red and black restaurant, discover Joël Robuchon's classic dishes made by the French chef Jonathan Doukhan, in small or large portions according to your desires ... And your budget!.
From France’s “Chef of the Century” Joël Robuchon comes this unique restaurant concept where every meal is prepared right before your eyes. Known for its friendly, interactive ambiance, take a seat at the service counter for an unobstructed view into the kitchen where award-winning dishes are sliced, diced and sautéed to perfection.

Fifteen years ago we indulged at the restaurant "next door" for our 10th wedding anniversary. Mr. Robuchon himself (RIP) was in the kitchen that night (rare occasion). My husband purchased his cookbook ahead of time because he knew he would be there. We asked our waiter if Mr. Robuchon would autograph our book... well... not only did he autograph it, but he came out of the kitchen to meet us and chat with us. OMG!!! We were so honored and shocked. I will never forget that... oh and the food and experience of it all was beyond exceptional !!! Worth every penny!!!

As a former fine dining chef 👩‍🍳, I can tell you that you where correct , they forgot too put in the goats cheese 🧀 Ravioli, my claim to fame I once worked with Gordon Ramsay at his first Michelin Restaurant “ Aubergine” in Park walk , Fulham , London , so I guess I should know , and yes Gordon Screamed and Shouted even then , but when Dinner service was over he was as nice as American 🇺🇸 Pie 🥧

I think that stereotype of Michelin star and higher end restaurant is so not true anymore. I've been to quite a few (including both of Joel's places in Vegas) Trust me when I say they are not stuffy or pretentious. Just the opposite, super friendly and accommodating. As far as portions go most every tasting menu I've done I've been stuffed like too much on more than several occasions. They explain each course and will gladly answer any and questions you have about the dish. The quail dish is fantastic! The potatoes are heavenly. Foie gras for the win. Nice to see a review on this place it's one of my favorites in Vegas! So glad you enjoyed great video!

Nice meal! These are really a works of art, like a Beethoven string quartet, except you enjoy it with sight, smell, and taste. Yes L'atelier is the kitchen for Joël Robuchon next door. You probably saw their executive chef running orders in the kitchen. I think it's also its experimental restaurant. I've seen a dishes I had at L'atelier later show up in the main restaurant. Thanks for sharing your experience!

At that time I think I only had a few hundred subscribers... I remember you - it's been a long time since you've commented. What's up? tea room (East) and bazaar (sls) are mandatory. Kosushi is my absolute favorite Japanese sushi place in south beach. Komodo is cool (it's like tao) and sexy fish Is brand new but I haven't been there yet. And there's Papi steak and swan if you want trendy dinner/drinks.

I've been looking forward to this video and it didn't disappoint. That looks like a fantastic meal. And the price doesn't seem that bad to me. I love fine dining, give me all the stuff I don't know how to pronounce and I don't know what it is (I usually wait until after I've taken a bite to look them up,). Give me the wine pairings for each course. It's so exciting to me. I don't mind the smaller portions, gives me the opportunity to try more things on the menu. One thing I can do without when it comes to fine dining is the pretentiousness that can come with the territory. Don't need any of that BS. When I head to Vegas in September, I think I'll be making reservations at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon. The more formal Joël Robuchon is on my Vegas Bucket List, one day I'll get there and partake in their "Menu Dégustation," which I believe is something like 15 courses. Oh, and regarding your 2017 Chambolle-Musigny, - Chambolle Musigny is in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy and that region is known for producing more tannic and powerful Pinot Noir; so, it's not surprising it started out bold and needed a little time to breathe.

@@brymtb Chances are that all those originally trained by Robuchon have already moved on. The food may still takes good, but most likely have drifted from what was intended by him as each new generation of Executive Chefs, Chefs de Cuisine, Sous Chefs, Station Chefs, and Purchasing Managers are trained by the person they are replacing, and not by Joel Robuchon himself.
