Nice game Anna. I got to give myself a little pat on the back too, after the opening which I don't know the theory of, once you got to the positions where you had to stop and think, I actually was able to guess correctly almost every single move. I missed one, I'll have to go back and look at it but that was pretty impressive considering the time control.

Yeah, it was crazy for me how often I was predicting her moves when I'm unranked and haven't played in years. Many times, her next move was even like my first thought beforing going into study mode. Was it the game, or was her commentary? Something about this game had a natural flow of like question and answer, if you know what I mean. It was erie, and I'll have to go back rewatch it too. Before, rewatching, my thought is that we're not all grandmasters and that maybe her opponent was having a bit of an off day, setting herself up for the next move.

Thanks for all the videos Anna, really helps understanding different positions and how to manipulate the board. Question for the chess friends out there. I'm a noob, 0 rating. I just play on my phone going to bed. My biggest struggles tend to be a point in the game after you developed all your pieces, everything is nicely guarded and no holes. I either a) move the one piece that makes it snowball against me. or B) I make a move that doesn't lose a piece, but lose tempo and its just a harder game in the long run. I assume with more play and time to understand the game theory Ill find the right pieces. Any advice would be great, although I'm not an avid player its definitely something I really enjoy.(also sorry for the poor explanation)

Very nice game! It's good to avoid Rossolimo, but I don't want to face Kd5xc6 followed by e5.. I always exchange Bg5xe3, but this game showed how much influence black squared bishop can have. Nice execution after ed5! I'm sure you've played many 'non-televised' 97% accuracy games, Anna

Yes that was a good game. When I stopped the game I found b4. That is thematic move worthy of Capablanca, Karpov, Fischer et al.... They all, head for (simplicity if necessary) and the end game, (and also as you freed your rook on the file and potentially your e pawn was on the way). if they can resolve the strategic issues and your plan to force a pawn on d5 was good also.....Great, even a beautiful, game!

"Blitz", in football and in chess, comes from "Blitzkrieg." This was the German strategy of "Lightning War" that they used to take about half of Europe in WWII, before anybody reacted.
