My Trapper Playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLJLlvIi3Io4wTnH7GngDSgCLDFhNPmPMQ I've actually talked about Trappers in 22 times. I'll probably talk about them again as folks have asked about my non-USA Trappers.

For the very small percentage that these make out of your collection, these are pretty cool trappers. The Camillus and the Bevertail being the absolute winners for me. Thank you for showing these Tobias.

Tobias I'm strictly a barlow guy but I saw a sak with walnut scales had to buy it I hates plastic junk but I do love stockman knives I tend to buy something if I love the look of it I love natural scales on my knives you probably understand way I thinks too interesting trappers you got but tobias here's a handy tip if you want to tead details on knives rub a pencil on the part thats got script the graphite in pencils acts as a protective coating and lubricant i use pencils on sticky zips too frees them up 👍🇬🇧🦊🐾🇺🇲

Case makes lots of trappers so someone must like them. I have some. The full size ones are big knives. Other companies make lots too, I am not big on collecting them but some are interesting. Your GEC is more a Folding Hunter just a tad smaller. It is pushing the limits of a trapper. Trappers did not trap large furbearers on average so it might be a more a Jack knife with two equal length blades. I would like to see all you other ones hiding in your collection. Then decide if you don’t like them as much as you think you do. 😅🤣

I’ll see what I can do. Interesting what you said about the GEC being like a Folding Hunter. I also feel that way. The Camillus Trapper is almost identical. Camillus didn’t always market it as a Trapper. I think at one time it was called the Frontiersman. A much classier name in my opinion.

ABATC... That's hilarious! I collected eight USA made Schrade trappers when I heard they were no longer being made in the US. They have a variety of handle materials and one has a bird hook blade, or whatever it is called. My EDC for many years was a Schrade 1940T single blade trapper. Anyway, other than those, I'm not a trapper collector. BTW... Nice collection. Your Bartender's Trapper is my favorite. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Tobias, for showing these, I do not hate trappers, but they are not the most interesting of the patterns.

Hi Tobias: I can’t really like Trappers. To me, a useful knife really needs to have, as a secondary blade, a sheepsfoot, coping, or at the very least a pen blade. That long spay, in combination with the long clip, is just a bad combination.
@nolanwebster1039 Жыл бұрын
That is a nice trapper collection. I too, prefer to collect Case's mini trappers over the full size. The clip and spey blades look better on that model.
@lewisgreenway5065 Жыл бұрын
I don't have a Trapper as I don't like the pattern, however the GEC looks rather nice I think the Case with the pen blade is the most user friendly.

You have Trappers! 😮 LOL

Thanks Tobias, Love that Bartender Trapper. That's a cool knife. Edit: You are not too biased. The mini-trappers are a much more pocketable and useful knife and Case definitely pushes the Trapper pattern way too much but it seems to make them money, just not from you or me.
@RJsKnives Жыл бұрын
I’m not surprised that you have trappers. You have to great a collection to not have an example of the pattern. In my opinion, you dislike the marketing a lot more than the actual knife. Now as to whether you find it a useful pattern for you to use is another issue.

So how many Trappers form China in your collection?
@KnifeChatswithTobias Жыл бұрын
I'll need to look. I'll try an do an update of Standard Trappers (54 pattern Clones), Non Standard Trappers, and what I consider "Trappers In Name Only"

Consider therapy to get to the root of the trapper issue
