5...Bg4 is a rare but challenging response. In the original study, Yanyan went with the top engine move 6 Qc2, I myself have gone 6 Qa4+ on the three occasions that I have gotten this position but I think William's improvised 6 Qb3 should be considered the main line. 6...e5 is a very tough move for Black to find and on 6...exd3 as in the game, White is clearly better after 7 Qxb7

Yes! When you do your full YanYan video and first Sicilian gambit, mention why you don't play the Smith-Morra. I’d have figured Esserman’s style and theory to be right up your alley. Great video!

Okay it's your first Yanyan game so I didn't look like you got your pieces in the right places! But somehow you just make it work. Thanks btw your channel is really good for my game. I was hoping you'd do something on the sicillian. I've been playing the Smith Morra. There are lines where you can really drag your opponent out into the woods.
