It's amazing on closer inspection how 85k miles will take its toll, but after seeing the results on Gaz's bike in the 'Spring has Sprung' vid, she'll be looking better than new and ready for the next 85k. It's nice for you to capture those precious moments with your daughter. You'll look back on those videos with such fondness and nostalgia when she grows up and thinks that Dad and his motorbikes are boring (like my daughter does now at 15 😢....😂).

As a 2016 Africa Twin DCT owner, I'm going to be interested to see how you get on - TMF's review is good but I tell ya what, watch FortNine's one on it as he absolutely nails what it's like to ride on the road....not the best! I did ride the 2018 update when I bought mine and it does have a number of improvements (all stemming from the drive by wire throttle and improved front suspension).
@SuperchargedLlama5 жыл бұрын
@RichyVida - I had small play with the engine breaking and sport modes when I rode the 2018 and I reckon there's probably a sweet spot in there somewhere. I'm not sure if they have but it could really have done with linking the shifts with the lean angel sensor so you don't get shifts mid corner (annoying at best, scary at worse) - I ride it in manual mode most of the time now and am much happier with it. Seeing as you're trying to blag some bikes, see if Honda will hook you up with the VFR800X Crossrunner (don't think you've got a video on that atm so I assume you may not have ridden it)....it's....well, I think it's brilliant. It's subjective of course....but as an ardent VFR fan it would be interesting to get your opinion.

Same bike, same year, and I recently got talked into new front springs while getting the seals replaced. In case you're looking for ways to dispose of even more money. I was skeptical but it made a HUGE difference! Apparently 15+ years tends to age them regardless of miles, much like myself

@@RichyVida My shop weighed me with all my gear on, and ordered new springs accordingly. Probably a bit stiffer spec, end result is it handles at 100km/hr as easily as it used to at 70 or 80, and handles high frequency bumps better. I'd ask your shop about it at least.
