It's so cool to see a younger perspective for Vinyl Tag. I love Post Malone. And those Star Wars 45s! 😎. And of course you should be listening to your own music.👏🏼👏🏼Great video.

Thank you! Posty is one of my favorite artists!

I've watched several (like 20 maybe) of these vinyl tag 2024 videos, and yours is the most unique. Your music choices are very different than most, which I find refreshing. Cheers!

I’m glad I can provide a different perspective since I’m one of the younger ones in the KZbin vinyl community. My collection is almost all modern/mainstream music so I knew what I was getting into lol. But I enjoy watching other vinyl tag videos so I can learn about music from before my time. Thanks for watching!

Such a great tag video. Great to see so many "newer" artists and bands from the 2010's and onwards. There is just so much wonderful music out there. Enjoyed hearing all about your dinner guests and some of these lps have some funky cover artwork. Very cool!

Thanks very much for the shout out Morgan, appreciate it. Yes indeed, I think this is the first Tag I have seen with 2010s as best decade. In fact I haven't seen anything you have showed so far (which is refreshing). Manchester is practically next door to London anyway, just wetter. I'm sensing a slight crush on Martin Garrix!! Radiance looks great. I don't have Thriller. Inception was a great pick well done.

Thanks for watching Stevie, and you’re welcome for the shout out! I was born in 2003 so I grew up with the 2010s music. I have so many great memories with songs from that time. But I also haven’t heard enough music from other decades. It’s nice to hear other people’s stories and opinions. I suppose you’re right about Martin Garrix. I really admire him so it was a dream come true to meet him!

As you get older you'll start listening to older music, especially within the genres you like or artists that still produce and you'll check up their back catalogue. TBH music hasn't changed much since the 90s. My mum hated my music because 90s rave sounded nothing like the music she grew up with in the 60s/early 70s. The problem I have listening to new music is that I've heard it all before - everything sounds much the same to me as it has since the 90s. The golden age of "electronic dance music" (EDM as it's called in the US) was 1988-1998 :P We just called it 'rave' or by the specific genre - acid house, hardcore, jungle, drum & bass, garage, UK garage, house, trance, progressive house etc. BTW while house comes from Chicago (garage from NY and techno from Detroit, though i'd argue Germany) progressive house started in the UK, the first prog house tune is Leftfeild - Not Forgotten :P

Very interesting! I’ve learned so much from your comments lol. My parents grew up listening to house music (they grew up in Chicago). They like modern/mainstream house music, but have said that the house they grew up with was very different. I guess I was born to love house (and EDM in general) 😂
@mrglasses895310 ай бұрын
@@MorganBrandon Yes 80's Chicago house is heavily influenced by disco and funk, though its not so different to current deep house. The first Chicago house track -Jamie Principle's waiting on my angel would fit into any deep house set today. The mainstream 'big room' house scene now is heavily influenced by 90s euro house, electro house, progressive house and to a degree big beat. The main difference I notice now is the BPMs are lower, in the 120-125 range, whereas back then 125 was slow 130-150 was the norm. But this change happened around 2005 when minimal/tech house took over.
@MorganBrandon10 ай бұрын
@@mrglasses8953 I agree I think 80s Chicago house sounds similar to modern deep house. Deep house is one of my favorite sub genres. 90s euro house has been making a bit of a comeback I’ve noticed. I can hear it’s influence in a lot of popular tracks from 2023. I also noticed a shift in BPMs.

Happy new year Morgan question for you do you have classic rock in your collection or new music only
@MorganBrandon10 ай бұрын
Happy New Year to you as well! I don't have any classic rock in my collection because I'm not a fan of that genre. My collection is mostly new music, but I do have some older albums.
@miketomlin604010 ай бұрын
Your delivery, tone is so consistent, a techno animal approach. Refreshing! You are showing records made for 14-17 year olds, the middle aged ''white'' men rambling on and showing dull dull dull pop-rock vinyls are also mostly showing records made for 14-17 year olds when they were, and many of them are near 66 years old! ps I suggest you never go to London, folks from Manchester are seen as worthless there, civilisation ends in the UK just outside of London, although there are rumours culture exists in a small part of Cornwall as well!
@MorganBrandon10 ай бұрын
Yeah most of the vinyl community members I’ve seen on KZbin are from the older generations. Not a lot of young people like myself, so I hope I can inspire people my age. Or at least I’ll be an important part of the younger generations making vinyl videos/showing newer records. Interesting to hear what you said about London.
@miketomlin604010 ай бұрын
@@MorganBrandon The London comment is slightly tongue in cheek, but ''Northerners'' can be seen as a lower form of life, similar to Southerners in the USA, or in this era TrumpaNazis! I see quite a few young folks making vinylvideos, those that are linked to this VC seem to be mostly focused on pop music from before they were born.
@MorganBrandon10 ай бұрын
@@miketomlin6040 From what I’ve seen on KZbin a lot of younger people have pop records from mainstream/modern artists. Like what’s on the radio these days. I’m interested to watch more vinyl tag videos to see the variety of collections and ages of collectors.
@miketomlin604010 ай бұрын
@@MorganBrandon Yes, but not younger folks who belong to this ''VC''. There are numerous folks your age showing the type of vinyls you have here.
@MorganBrandon10 ай бұрын
@@miketomlin6040 Yes exactly. That was my point that they might be showing the same records as me, but they’re not in the actual vinyl community here on KZbin. That’s why I feel different to them. I think that makes my channel more unique in a way.

good day to you, I just discovered your channel here on You Tube and I was really happy that I found someone who really loves EDM (on vinyl)👍 EDM is also one of my favorites and I'm really into Eurodance☺️ I'll look into the next one Days watch more videos from your channel.... I come from Germany (Aachen) and also have a vinyl channel here (it's in German) but if you could take a look, I would really be happy, of course I left you a subscription 🤗 Kind regards from Aachen from Marcus😊

@@MarcussVinylDachboden I’m glad you noticed that! Since I’m also a producer I’ve learned to train my ear to notice small details in music when I react to songs on my channel. Heres something to check out to get you into Trance - Didi Han - In the Zone EP Also check out her boiler room set titled "Didi Han | Boiler Room x Róisín Murphy" it's a mix of prog house and prog trance. I only found her yesterday, but man she's good.
