I can't believe someone stole his old original head stone!? what losers, and beyond disrespectful! That's cool you put them songs in.. really brings out the vibe. RIP Jim.

i just got back yesterday, actually 3 this morning, from paris. went to the grave wednesday the 26th of july 2023. it was hard to find. bumped into a family from new jersey who kindly let me join them as we searched. i got to throw a rose to the edge of his grave. it was surrounded by a fence. it was a beautiful sunny day and other people were there on a tour of the cemetary. we were told that jim's grave is the most visited.

Do you know what frustrates me, the fact that there are so many people in the past that destroyed Jim’s grave and they’ve now had to resort to putting a fence around it. And to those people who originally stole the bust that was on his tombstone that is just disgraceful😢

Me too man I've been thinking about doing it since I was 14 years old I am 55 now man so I'm starting to run out of time but I always wanted to do it it's like on my bucket list I got to get there one day man have you seen so much video about it online and it just seems so cool and the to find out that it's the most visited grave in the cemetery it's really cool to think there's so many people still know of him and the doors music and want to visit his grave only wish that the original bust of his head was still there among other things although andthe original stone although I've seen pictures of it at the time and it was really kind of disrespectful with all the markers written all over the tombstones of other people like this way to Jim and Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix forever what kind of graffiti even one that said Jim was a junkie

I agree with you it isn't a very well kept place, and at one point they wanted to throw him out of there, I guess you rent your space in the graveyards there, but when they found out how much money they make of people traveling there to visit his grave they renewed the lease, so generous of them lol

@@kimsullivan-wz8wzyou're 120% right they wanted to throw them out of there because like you said you got to renew the grave every 10 years and because of all the graffiti on other grades and everybody was complaining families of other people that have died there and had tombstones and once he saw how big it was it supposed to be like the third biggest tourist attraction in all the fucking Paris in France and all the money it made for the cemetery

Back in the 2000s the 30 year lease on Jim's plot ran out not to burst anyone's bubble but he's not in there. The French government payed for a life time lease AKA forever. but moved him so he can rest in peace under one of his alias,s. That's just for fan's and tourism The lease running out is public record.

Life time is not the jargon for a grave in case you are dead :-) Many graves at Pere Lachaise have inscripted: license perpetuelle, that is what you mean. The 30 year lease should have expired a few days after 3 july 2001. But are you sure his remains are moved? That would not make sense to me. Any clue as moved to where? By the way, the tomb of Oscar Wilde nearby has more protection: a 2 m tall solid glass wall all around, provided by the City of Paris
@mben-david2064

The lease was re-designated in 2001, 30 years after he passed. He is now the permanent and sole owner/ resident of that plot. You're what the French call " Le Imbecile".
