I was a foreign student back in 1991-95 and was living In Roger’s Park, Chicago. I used to volunteer with the Chicago Red Cross as a first aid/ cpr instructor. 👍remember helping during the Chicago heatwave. We visited public housing for the elderly and helped distribute fans, ice helping folks in community centers. Thank you for your kindness and taking your free to help others.

This brings back memories. I worked on a Habitat for Humanity build during my first spring break in college, and it definitely influenced my trajectory as a person. I see you swimming towards the deep end, fellow traveller. 💛🙏🏻

That’s a nice ReStore. I’ve seen some pretty disorganized ones. That one is pretty well put together.

Do most koreans know how to use basic powertools? Most americans eventually have to fix something with their father or uncle or someone and get shown at a young age, and im just curious if its different in korea

Power tools are not commonly used in homes outside the US. They are considered expensive and mostly used in Industry or by workmen (plumber, electrician etc) More than 90% of the people use manual tools.

Hi! Have you considered volunteering at a South Korean Christian church or Calvary Chapel near you? It is multiethnic & your English is great!
@MillennialForChrist3 күн бұрын
You can find a church close to your zip code by googling 'Calvary Chapel church finder.' It's a great way to meet other American & Korean Christians, too.
