That is a lovely story. I have a lordmatic from my nephew, nothing so special like yours but because he gave it to me, and he said to me "everybody needs a lordmatic." I'd love a watch like yours, or in the similar shape of the original quartz, the Seiko Astron. The nearest I've got is the slightly convex body shaped Timex 1975 reissue. It's inexpensive, elegant and beautiful. Your grandson will love your watch eventually. You don't really own watches of that quality do you? You just pass them on.
