Research shows that dial control is safer than the touchscreen, and everyone I know prefers the dial to the touchscreen. The dial is more expensive to implement too, so kudos to Mazda for bucking the touchscreen trend, listening to marketing, and doing what's safer.

I own this vehicle as well, mid range GT trim, with most of the bells and whistles. I love 98% of it, except that the washer fluid comes out of the wiper blades, meaning if you're going over 50km the fluid flys straight over and barely touched the window, the second one is the auto car start turns off when you open the door, which means you HAVE to restart the vehicle, my partner's car stops if you hit the peddles without the key in the car...it's way smarter...maybe this can be changed in the system? I have to look it up. The gauges are fully electronic and when I drove to the US I didn't look know the mph. I need to look up whether that can be changed too. And the centre console takes some getting used to ...it has an interesting opening process.

I bought a 2022 Mazda CX-30 CE AWD 6-AT about 15 months ago, after a problematic quasi-lemon 2020 Toyota experience drove me to ditch that vehicle after only 2 years & 10K miles. Haven't had any problems or issues with my CX-30 whatsoever since I bought it, though I don't use some of its features at all, so can't comment on them as being good or bad, such as radar cruise control, smartphone connectivity, & lane assist). No complaints here, other than certain subjective aesthetic criticisms of what I would have done differently than Mazda for the CX-30. I would say that you should buy a larger Crossover/SUV if you plan to put adults in the back seat regularly or need more cargo/hatch hauling capacity, but those weren't issues for me personally (I prefer smaller vehicles & never need to use the back seats for passengers).

@@peterjordan2738 It was a J-VIN 2020 Corolla SE Sedan 6-MT. Considering that it was both Japan-built & a manual, it really surprised me that it was such a poor-quality & problematic vehicle (starter failure, repeated new battery failures (electrical problems), transmission shifter problems, paint discoloration on the front/side/back plastic painted pieces, & a cabin that developed all sorts of rattles/buzziness in the pillars, doors, dash & roof).

So I just bought a 2023 CX30 today. I test drove both a brand new Impreza hatch and HR-V. For starters, the Honda and Subaru both have CVT transmissions. I have to say the CX30 handled much better than the HRV, but not quite as good as the Subaru, which is to be expected as the Subie is close to the ground and flatter. But the Mazda handles markedly better than the Honda as well as the Nissan Rogue, which I also test drived. The sound system in the Mazda is killer, even the base model. The Subaru sound sucked, and the HRV sounded great as well. Ride-wise, the Mazda beat them all. So I bought it, and the build quality inside is pretty slick and minimalist. The Mazda also has a more powerful engine than the other two. Very cool car

@everymandriver positioning, if you look carefully, it is positioned so that you don't have to take your eyes off the road, some of the in dash screens are so low you need to physically look down to see where you are going to touch on the screen. The centre console dial and button system which is logically laid out is very intuitive and easy to use which also negates the need for a massive dash screen. Note to Elon Musk on that one.

Most of the vehicle parts are from Japan and other parts worldwide, its assembled and painted in Mexico. The bigger issue is these Mexican auto factory workers are paid low incomes.......

The only design element I like are the rear circular tail lights. Mazda should incorporate those circular tail lights on all models. The info screen is pitiful to be kind.

Who can afford anything in this hyperinflationary Obiden economy?

Had one for 6 months overpriced and overrated. 5 years behind in technology, missing some of the most basic functions like infotainment ignition retention and has useless built-in navigation. The gauges are all inaccurately sized some of the icons are so small they can't be seen yet the speedometer and tachometer are about 5 inches in diameter.

Torsion beam rear suspension is cheap and that (ridiculous) rotary knob/dial infotainment system in 2023 thats lame Mazda, touchscreen is the standard nowadays. Quick pass folks better options from Toyota, Honda...........

@crow_2k11beatsbydre8 That they offer a touchscreen means... what? The dial is safer and way more convenient. The dial is more expensive to implement and make, too, so what does that say? It says Mazda is doing marketing research -- and listening.
