Should the wife be getting the husband's input before committing to give to her family who is asking? Secondly, how should we take Jesus' words in Luke 6:30, "Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back."?

I believe this individual needs to consult the pastor elders deacons or whatever mature Christian he knows and I would consult more than just one where he can expand and give all the details so that he is not taking overbearing approach with his wife... His first step is to go to prayer to God and ask him to reveal or give him the proper Spirit to examine himself not for his own sake but so that every decision he makes honors the Lord... Regardless of what other people think... Then he needs to pray that God allow him to see the situation from the perspective of his wise based on her character... The problem here is there is a temptation for a man to say she should be submissive to the husband which is true but hers first submission comes to Christ... None of us are perfect especially as husbands and fathers... We were given Mercy and as such he should be merciful with his wife understanding that she may not have the capacity to understand things from his perspective... If we are to give freely to enemies.. what does that say about giving to those who are relatives or even unsaved.. this is why Proverbs tells us of all things we should seek wisdom...
