Cindy!! I could give you a giant bear hug! I’ve never heard of Libby and haven’t utilized the library because I don’t read physical books due to hating carrying anything with me and reading while my child sleeps. I need to read possible comps for my work, but money is tight right now. Your recommendation made me go to the library yesterday, update my card, download Libby and another app they recommended, and now I have all the books I need for free and I get to help the library. Thank you so much!! Also, my ten year old wanted her own library card too, so I signed her up. She feels very mature now lol

Gaslighting as a plot twist is the equivalent of stories written by children finishing by "then they wake up." and like a teacher seeing this for the hundredth time, we cant believe we are reading this again. (anygays great video! I love the paintings in the background just put on the back of the sofa. happy new year!)

How did I know the worst love interest line has to be about November 9 (and I didn't even read it 😆). I did read Verity aka Rebecca rip-off and the biting the bed scene is very memorable, unfortunately.

You should read Soul Catcher by E.L. Todd. I picked this book up from GTM so you know it’s a treasure lol. Her other books look like your run of the mill romances but this romantasy really captured my 17 year old heart. Though I absolutely hated the love triangle in the second book and haven’t read the third book because I’m scared to see who she ends up with. Maybe now that it’s been a few years I’ll like it. Anyway I think you’ll either like or love this book because 1- it’s not long. 2- the characters are usually pretty good 3- theres sex 4- there’s plot 5- it’s funny, they stuff leaves into wounds without preparing them as if that’s how medicine works and at one point the main character shoves leaves down the love interests throat.

I really want someone to write a realistic romance where the female lead chooses herself at the end and tell the toxic man to eff off.

From Blood and Ash was a MESS & I'm still haunted by that one scene in which the main character & her love interest have s'x and she starts screaming her head off simply because he touches her although it's not even in an erogenous ~area~ and I was just like??? why is this book so hyped??

I didn't read From Blood and Ash but I read other books of this author... And I must say she has only one good series and It's Luxen series (My favorite romance fantasy book of all time) It doesn't have smut, the story and plot is quite good & creative and main characters are really great. The dialogue is also funny... Idk why she doesn't stick with non smut stories since they work the best for her....

I have a list of books that I call "library books" which are books that some reason (often times a movie adaptation) I want to read it but have a feeling I won't like it so I get it from the library.

Made the mistake of listening to From Blood and Ash and Ash Princess at the same time. It felt like I was just listening to a really long version of the same book, except sometimes there would be vampires and other time there would be elemental magic.

Hearing you discuss Hooked again reminds me that I did read a book where a character has a romance with Hook that I really enjoyed - ‘Peter Darling’ by Austin Chant, where trans masc Peter Pan has a romance with Hook (it’s less dodgy than it sounds - I remember really enjoying it but I haven’t read it in a while so this is just me saying you reminded me to reread it haha). Anyways I’ll go back to watching the video again :)
