First rule of any high intensity sport is "When you get hurt, heal up, and do it again." Confidence can be bruised, but the only one who can let it be stolen is you. I have scars from Airsofting from making stupid decisions and walking into bad battles. But you keep fighting, you keep going, and find the way to break it. Find a new way to look at it, find where you overthought it, and don't do it again. You looked wicked on that thing, and I know that next time you're in Dublin, you're going to shred the FUCK out of those drops. You got this Rachel. Don't let anything hold you back.

I remember riding a while back, I was riding on a trail and got attacked by rabid dogs, I fell off, got back on and rode for my life. I eventually got to a fenced off highway, jumped the fence and waved a car down to help me, I'm fine other than the large bite mark on my leg. And I still BMX. Never let something that can ruin your hope, ruin it. Always keep riding.

I always love to see these vlog style bike rides. I think I've ridden on one or two simple trails before, but I don't have much experience. I've crashed on causal, normal riding and damaged my bike, so I guess it's safe to say you at least knew what you were doing when you crashed doing this rough trail. Love what you're doing in here and ARP, keep up the good work!

Keep going at it. I am still learning and just got to over a year. I still think about the time I went OTB and hit my face of the floor. Have a scar in my upper lips to remind me of that moment. Not even after jumping from a picnic table I have regained the confidence to do it on my hardtail, even with the instructor up there yelling me what to do. Eventually it will, so just keep going.

Ouch, that did look painful. It's the small falls, or even the slow speed ones that can be the worst, or catch you out. As I know from experience. :-) At least you've got back on that bike and won't let it stop you.

I was going over a jump (much bigger than the drops, getting maybe 10 ft in the air) and landed nose heavy. Yeah that majorly sucked. My shoulder hurt for 5 days or so, and I had tons of cuts. Mildly sprained my wrists, not too bad. My knees got all cut up. It could've been worse, but they kept the course watered down (I was just doing a skills course) and that kinda gave me a softer landing. I then rolled off into the mud on the side. Shirt was dirty, everything sucked, I couldn't continue the shotgun classes I was taking at the camp. Oh well. Tip for going over drops that helps me: pull up on the bars slightly to slightly pop the front wheel up and shift your weight to the rear. It'll also help you land on both tires a little easier.

Are you ok after that crash?
@ChrisRedding16 жыл бұрын
I don’t like that title 😂 Edit: watching the video the camera doesn’t seem balanced. Which could lead to making your viewers dizzy. I feel like you should purchase a gimble for the camera. That keeps the gopro balanced while also giving the viewer the affect of riding with the user. You can pick a cheap one up at Best Buy or on amazon.
@dachshund01216 жыл бұрын
SlipperyXXHippo the point of fpv is seeing that if you have a problem with the camera why are you watching the video?
@Firekitten_official6 жыл бұрын
I plan to get one, but they are expensive for ones that are high enough quality to be sturdy in a crash, and fit chest mounts for gopro.... I'm not making that much money or I'd have one, believe me. The terrain is also rough, Gimbles aren't THAT good. Better yes, but on the tech terrain, its barely useful.
@peterfixit72216 жыл бұрын
tbh this video is more than good enough
@traildoug4156 жыл бұрын
You really need a gimbal for mtb pov vids. I normally switch off videos within a few seconds if they havnt been filmed with one. Your vids are pretty much the only exception 'cos UK&I . Check out the latest BKXC vids for how much difference they make along with a bit of colour correction.
@Firekitten_official6 жыл бұрын
I'm aware, and when I can afford one, I will. They're expensive, and heck, several of the big MTB bloggers are moving accross to headmounts as well for a lot of their footage, which is the same I use. Its not ideal no, but there's less to break when you crash. If i had a gimbal on during that crash, i'd be down a lot of money. As for color correction, once I llearn that skill of videography, I plan to, I'm not THAT good. (Still learning)
