I started recently and genuinely couldn’t do more than one. (I’m 38.) I’ve started a programme three times a week and now am up to four sets of 15. My goal is to be able to do 50 without a rest. This video has helped keep me motivated - thanks!

Started with kneeling pushups. Now 200 regular ones a day and rising. Start slow is the key.

Just a suggestion guys, do the Diamond push ups of 3 sets of 30 repetitions + 10 on the last 3rd set ..rest for only a minute per set, this is my 100 a day push up program in the morning every day rest only on sundays, try this cardioclear routine @57 and as strong as a bull. 💪😎 And always be thankful to God Above for each day we woke up🙏 😇

I'm 68 and after finishing chemo in Dec I started doing pushups again in January and could only do 6 at first. I worked it up to 20 in 3 or 4 weeks but I've been stuck at 21 to 26 since then.

i walk my dog twice a day, 30-40 minutes in the woods and 30 minutes on street, Then I do 100 pushups a day 5 days a week, work at a factory and im in shape, slowly but surely im here

Don't do aerobic exercise before weights, unless it's a brief warm-up. It will limit how much you will be able to lift.

I used to suffer from angina. Ever since I began seriously working out and putting in efforts to do 500 push ups everyday. I can breathe effortlessly without any excruciating pains in my chest. I do it this way; 50 push ups 6 times in the morning. And 50 push ups 4 times in the evening. Equating 500 push ups daily.

This Doctor is awesome and has practical advice. It's made me adjust my fitness goals (get healthy). It's crazy how quickly you can lose your fitness ability and recovery. I used to do 100 press ups in one session without a break (over 11 years ago). Now, a combination of poor diet, excess weight gain and sedentary work I doubt I could even manage 5! I am determined to get back on it.

The best push ups. And the best way for gain : I do 1000 hardest push ups Monday and Thursday... Tuesday and Friday legs. Upper -Lower rest Upper-Lower rest....etc

Im doing push ups 13 repitions on 3 sets every monday, wednesday and friday the rest were my restdays, but wait its a quality push up its 5 seconds slowly going then stop for another 5 seconds then return up and wait 4 seconds until going down again, in 13 repetitions. 3 Sets

At age 61, i use three attempts to do as many pushups as i can. At one time, the most I've done is 70. Collectively, I've done 142 max for a day. I do this every day. Feel fantastic!!

Anything is better than nothing. I am 62 - I 60 normal pushups and 3 sets of 20 diamonds with 30 seconds rest. This is progressive so the quantity will increase until I change up.

I read on the net 10 yrs ago a push up plan that went like this..............get down and do your Max number of pushups. mine was 10 , the goal is then 4 sets of the following 1st set 80% of max I did 8 , then Max I did 10, then 60% I did 6 then last set as many as possible to fail........do this every night. Every 10 nights increase your Max by 1 and calculate the other numbers. At 62yo I do 4 sets totaling 85 every night................

Aim for 25 every other day. And do them, even if they're broken up in as many reps throughout thr day. That means if you can only do 5 or 1 at a time... do it until you get 25 if it takes all day.

Well said . People who can do 40 pushups for sure have above average muscle mass too . I can bet they need to have bigger triceps than average to pull the 40 rep off . I'm skinny , 33 y / o male and did 34 pushups max in one go !!! Can you imagine how hard would it be to achieve that goal of 40 reps at 40 . You need to be ' very fit ' and Strong to achieve it .

Just keep going for a week doing 5 in morning and 5 in evening. After a week you'll easily do 7 or 8, repeat that for another week or two. (I'm 65, with a heart condition and medication, plus huge back op, and I cycle, do yoga, archery and welding. Started as above and now up to 12 after 3 weeks. Aim to do 30 a day for about 3 months, will see where it takes me.) Good luck

I’ve read the study, it says they set the metronome to 80bpm, and you did as many as you could- in time with the metronome- until you failed or missed three beats. I’m trying to picture what this means (missing 3 beats)- does that mean if you do a push up, and stay in place, arms extended for 3 beats without going back down you were disqualified?

If you have pushed up, ready to lower yourself, but don't start going down within 3 beats time, then you stop counting the number of push ups.

Yes. I'm 41 and I was doing 60 a year ago. Then stopped for a year doing push ups, and just recently began them again, and my rep is now 45 to 50, and working them back up again.. I was doing two sets of 60 a day.

Kali and Rich most likely can still do a lot of cardio, just not to the extent of an endurance athlete. Endurance athletes will always have better cardio than strength athletes, but strength athletes are a lot more stronger. Also....high volume or high intensity weight training is a form of cardio. The only reason Kali/Rich probably have bad hearts is all the steroids and pre they always take.
