This week I tackle my entire wardrobe and get it decluttered! I declutter and organize my closet, my drawers, shoes and everything thing else! I really wanted to start my year off right! Hello everyone ! Welcome to week ✌🏼 of my month-long Declutter and Organize Series! Last week I tackled my home decor, and today I am tackling my wardrobe! Spoiler alert …. I get rid of A LOT!! I know I have several more weeks of decluttering ahead of me, but I am thoroughly enjoying this process!! Wow, amazing! You might put your boots back where they were bc there's more height, and they're not squished. Then put your husband's shoes on the higher shelves so they're easy for him to reach. Excellent decluttering!

Good morning DeDe. Great job on week 2 of decluttering. You and hubby did great!! It feels so good to declutter. It’s an unspoken rule here that if you purchase a T-shirt or new pants etc, one item for each new one needs to be decluttered. We’re pretty good about that. Good morning Grace! That is a great rule to have, I have tried to use that same rule. I think the problem was that I didn’t do it immediately and then it gets put on the back burner or forgotten. One thing that has helped me with my hangup clothes is only keeping so many hangers in my closet. I definitely am still at work in progress! Thank you so much for watching and see you next week!

@@MyBigTidyUp Yeah. My hubby has SOOO many New York Giants jackets, sweaters, and tees that he never wears but refuses to let them go. I am tempted to just declutter them but I know you aren't supposed to declutter other people's stuff. I think he is superstitious and thinks him holding onto them will help the team. Anyone that checks their standing would see its more of a jinx than lucky charm!🤣

I am always astonished by how much you are able to declutter from your closet. I had to chuckle about your husband's blue tees. My husband wears button down collared, plaid shirts every day of every season, so his shirts rows are also repetitive, although in a different way. As always, you have a beautiful result with space for your clothes to breathe. You inspire me to get back to work with a renewed spirit!

I agree, PJ are for sleeping, lounge wear is good for errands. Also, lounge wear on the days were you want to wear pj's all day but also want to feel like you are put together and ready for the day, hehe❤

Hi DeDe! I got up today and started working on the stove and oven. The oven racks are done, the stove grates are soaking and the oven’s on self cleaning- so now relaxing a bit and watching my favorite you tuber! Great job and great motivation, as always! Thank you! I need two more of those white baskets- our dollar trees stopped having white and just have sort of clear ones now😩 Have a wonderful week!

I save space by hanging folded silk scarves on the shoulder of the blazer/coat to be worn with it, & anchor it with a brooch. Gloves are folded in half, & tucked into the pockets of the coat/jacket to be worn with, so it's ready to hit the ground running, when I leave for church.

@@MyBigTidyUp It's not the expensive kind of closet. It's a double walk-in, but I cleaned, organized, & painted it in purple & lavender, vertical stripes, like a boutique. I need my long hanging space, b/c I wear mostly dresses & skirts, b/c of hot flashes. I wish this comment section had a button for uploading photos.

Well your clothes are right pretty. In Visual Merchandising class for Fashion Design degree, they taught us to hang clothes light to dark, solids to prints, to neutrals, short to long, small to large, if we wanted our closet to look like a boutique.

I have always done my clothes in rainbow order and by the season. I have always kept my lighter weight clothes.(spring and summer.) on the top I have always kept my heavier clothes on the bottom.(fall in winter) I never thought to take it astep further by organizing them into solids and prints! Sometimes I get a plan in my head and then go with it. Other times I may execute a plan and it just isn't what I want. I am getting ready to do a big purge of Halloween and Christmas decor. Most of that is going to be sold.

I did it. I didn't count the number of clothing items but I filled up 8 kitchen size garage bags some of the clothes was my husband's. 6 pairs of shoes. 3 purses and 2 wallets. Thank you for the motivation! I love your videos. ❤

Hi there! Mr. Tidy Up is an alumni for KU, so he does like to wear a lot of of their T-shirts. We are both fans of KU and the Royals and both of their colors are royal blue so we have a lot of blue shirts! We also have a lot of Kansas City Chiefs items, but some are red and some are black so they aren’t so noticeable! 😆 We do wear a lot of sports team T-shirts!

In Textiles class, for Fashion Design degree, they advised us to never let wool suits, or wool garments touch carpet. A caterpillar called a "wooley bear," lives in carpet, even polyester carpet, & eats wool, b4 it turns into a Tiger Moth, & eats more wool.

Any wool, cashmere sweaters too. My neighbor hung her wool suit on her bottom rack, & asked me how holes got chewed in the bottom. 2 of my cashmere sweaters, were stored in my soft sided, tapestry, carpet type, luggage, & both sweaters got chewed. I also learned never to store leather or fur in plastic bags. Leather & fur need to breathe, or fur sheds, & leather gets a sticky residue from it.

Love you too, friend! We have three favorite team teams that we follow, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals and the KU Jayhawks. And since my husband is an alumni of KU, he wears a lot of KU shirts. Also, the Royals are blue so that’s why we have so many blue shirts! A lot of our chief clothes are red and black so you probably don’t notice them as much!

Hello there! You are not the first person to ask that! Lol! We have three favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, and the KU Jayhawks.
