I think this is my last bmw. I need a car with a remote starter and app for it on the phone. It be sooo cold up north in winter and to see people with Honda and Toyota’s able to remote start from their phone’s is annoying when you have a BMW and can’t do any of that.

That's honestly ridiculous you have to do anything once I have it working it should never turn off. Also I'm tired of screens asking me to say ok just to get in my car. I'm not worried about sending data to bmw every fucking g time I get in my car. Make it ask ONCE. ONCE should do. I accept. Great. Good! Now leave me alone. I'm alright but that felt good to vent

Didn't fix it for me, via the app or key, still doesn't work. I've seen like 5 videos saying this, I've turned it off and on again.. still won't work... Even tried resetting the iDrive infotainment system three times and still not working

You change it in the iDrive settings, but do you still have your remote start active with BMW? I’ve seen people have theirs completely shut off from BMW. Also, remote start does not work if you have a check engine light (if you do on yours that is).
