What a trip down memory lane. My buddy had a 409 bored 40 thousandths and aligned bored by Luther Costales in Houston Texas including Howard's aluminum rods, Jahn's power-slot pistons and a Chevrolet mystery cam ? (Z-11 ) I don't remember but that A-Stock street Impala SS would run 12'5 s @ Green Valley, Yello Belly, Little River and many, many street races against 406's, 348's, 426's,383's, 390's, the most surprising one's were the 300 HP Chevy 327's, what fun back in the day.

I’m a steel press worker if you are forming 18-20 gauge steel in dies and switch to 24 gauge steel in the same dies you will not get a good form, that’s the reason for the wrinkles.

A friend of mine inherited a 62 Impala 409 with double four barrel carbs . He never would want to sell it to me . When he sold it he avoided me for a year because he knew how much I wanted it . Never understood why he kept it from me . I think it was a power trip . “ I have it and you don’t “ kind of thing .

If you watch more "My classic car" episodes, you will find that he goes to many car shows, speaks to different owners (not all rich folks) and drives other peoples cars so we get to see what its like to drive them instead of the owners driving themselves. He goes to rich folks homes/museums to show cars we would otherwise never get to see. He also owns a few really nice old fords. Dennis is kinda corny (sorry Dennis) but he grows on you,

@@MyClassicCarTV wrong asshole. I owned two Plymouth Roadrunners and was racing them in the Sixties. I knew the answers to all of the questions you asked. I’m a 71 year old who has been involved with Drag racing since 1965 and am still racing today. I grew up a gear head who was crazy into Mopars and was a witness to all of the factory high performance cars as a young man. You are not one of us and are not an authority on these cars.
@MyClassicCarTV3 жыл бұрын
I'm happy for you. Really. And for the record, I never claim to be an authority. I'm just the ultimate enthusiast with every car guy and gal's dream job. My approach to the show, and to life in general, is to try to learn from everyone I talk to. Probably not a concept you can relate to. Here's another one. It's a broad hobby, and everybody gets to play. As for not being "one of us", I don't think I'd want to be one of your "us". Just sayin'.
