Excellent point on how the metallic gold better reveals the lines of the car. I've stared and admired many of these in person and I'm more clearly seeing the lines in your video than ever via a flat screen tv. Thanks for doing what you do! ~ Mike ~

Excellent highlight choice Dennis. An exemplary example of a seldom seen as equipped Torino Sport. Often overlooked in general because of the Mopar and GM intermediates offered before and after 1972. As I was enjoying your conversation with this dedicated owner - caretaker, I was recalling - observing the same interesting features & facts that you astutely, in your inimitable style, pointed out. Thanks for what you do Dennis…. & Crew. 💪👍👏

The fastback Torinos of 1972-1973 are some of the most stylish, handsome cars ever built. For something even more rare and different, try finding the same year range in the Mercury Montego. Fastback Montegos are almost unheard of these days.

That Gold color looks dynamic in the sun. The 351 cobra jet is a rare beast that Ford put some leftover boss-351 parts in, Ford lowered compression with pistons. Great example balance luxury/sport.

Hey big bro Denis! Oh man, what a beautiful Gran Torino. WOW-her luscious curves and loooong lines just POP in that awesome gold color, too. Oh man. I got gold stripes on top of my ever present white tube socks (baseball stockings) like the perpetual 80's JV baseball jock I am, and this here GT just knocked my floppy sneakers right off my stocking feet lol🤣🤪! As a huge "Starsky and Hutch" fanboy, I am a sucker for these Torino's and this one is extra special. Thanks for bringing her to us, man. JV Johnny ⚾⚾

In 1972 the overall design was a conundrum. Combining curved and angular styling languages made it “playfully uncomfortable” to the eye in 1972 and forward. Not long after into the 1980s, the 1960s and 70s Ford Torinos became more appealing stylistically to many, or at least to me.

I ordered a 1972 Grand Torino sport from the factory. I was 18. Fastback, light blue. White vinyl top. Factory mags. $4,200! Drove it 5 years & bought a corvette. Still have the vette. Miss the Torino still though.

Q code CJ 351's were a special engine, designed as a 1971 introduced intermediary in Mustangs between the earlier 285 hp M code and the R code 4V HO Boss spec 330 hp option. The Q code for that 72 year was down about 14 hp to around 266 hp in Mustangs, and sometimes quoted as a little less in Torinos. Big block performance in a small block 5.8 liter engine capacity. 🥝✔️

Best body style by far. 1 year only. The 73 and up had the stupid looking huge bumpers. I also like the 68/69 Torino body.

The Grand Torino for 72 was unique, a good alternative could be the 72 Montego, 2 door. The 73 Grand Torino was ruined by the new bumper requirement.

My parents were looking to buy a new car in 1972 it was a choice between a 1972 Grand Torino and a 1972 Buick Skylark. The 1972 Buick Skylark had the better looks and power to it, is why they bought the Skylark.
