Have to correct you on the meaning a little bit- Dionysus is not only the god of wine, he's also the god of inspiration, euphoria and artists. So the deeper meaning is closely connected to the art theme - sul is alcohol in Korean, while yesul is art. We have a wordplay here with a deeper meaning! It's about artists getting drunk on art and never being able to quench their thirst 😁 Jhope took a huge part in writing and producing Dionysus, it screams Hobi style😎

Dionysus was a God that didn't live with the other Gods. He was weird cause he had interests in human way of living , so he traveled the world together with his female followers. God of wine, fertility, art, etc. Him and BTS have a lot in common ^^

What got me into BTS was a funny compilation of them, which displayed their bond. So I will say I got into them because of how close they, and how they sincerely care and love each other. I listened to their music after knowing their personality and names.

I think JD and Kat did a good job as an ARMY introducing their friends to BTS. Same as JD my bias is RM and his 6 brothers bias wrecked me everyday (I'm not complaining). BTS video that got me into the rabbit hole is not their MV but a clip of variety show LOL .. I knew kpop since 2nd gen around 2007-2008 but I didn't stan any kpop group but just watched their mv and variety show here and there. Every year there are so many new kpop group yet so many disbanding too (especially if u're not from the Big3). So when I heard the news about a new kpop group named BTS from a relatively small label I didn't pay that much attention. Over the years I've watched some of their mv (I need U, Danger, Fire, BST, etc) and year end performance (Fire in 2016 is still legendary for me) but still I didn't dive into them yet. Until one day in 2020 I watched an old clip of variety show "Problematic Men" where RM was one of the cast. I was like "isn't this the BTS leader?" "Why he looked so swag yet adorable?" "Wow, his brain is sexy and his voice is so deep" "Wait a minute, he wrote most of their discography?" "I need to find out more" and the rest is history :D

SAVE ME got me HOOKED🙌 and I have been an Army since Sep 2016. I was only really interested in BTS at first but started looking at and listening to other groups and enjoying Kpop in general such as Mamamoo, Red Velvet, Blackpink, Ateez, Stray Kids, Enhypen etc. However, BTS remain the group I love the most. They just hold a special place for me.

They actually had to change part of the choreo for Dionysus. The part where they go down to the ground they changed because during a rehearsal Jungkook bumped his chin on the floor quite hard. There's actually a video of the incident on youtube. And yes the Dionysus MMA performance with the dance break is incredible. Actually the whole MMA 2019 performance is on another level. Only BTS can get a 37 minute performance at an award show.

I remember my first time. It was Christmastime 2016 and I was watching a Hannibal fanvid (still mourning it's end in 2014) and a beautiful voice came through my earphones during the black screen at the beginning before it blended into the wondrous visage of Hugh Dancy. Naturally, I went to the comment section and looked for, "What's the name of the song at the beginning? That voice is beautiful, wtf." And scrolled through the many "Darude, Sandstorm" comments to find "Blood Sweat and Tears, by BTS." The which I said to my self, "Self? What's a BTS?" The rest is history.

I am the same here...I stay all night just watch BTS dance practice video, MV, behind the scene, Run BTS, bon voyage, TV show, BangtanTV clips, concerts, etc.... I do this for weeks and weeks until I caught up and have nothing else to watch...but then I go back and rewatch some of their MV. I am so hooked I feel like I am back living in my teenage years again. I love them so much!!! I can talk about this all day all night. They moved me in so many ways...Danger and Dope got me good and hard!

This is a little late, but my story of coming across BTS is actually Pretty Recent. August 25, 2020(I believe) which is 4 days after the release of Dynamite. My sister was watching one of my favorite reactors and he ended up watching it. She ran to me and demanded I watch it. I did and we have been hooked since! We love these boys and we both love Jimin but our bias wrecker is all of them! I love y'all's reactions and how much facts you give while explaining. The first video was their debut stage but wasn't a fan then, not until my friend in church played Danger within our break I was around 14-15 years old then when she re introduced bts to me. I still remember the thing she said like these band are so underrated but, they are good. So from 2014 I became a fan but, I missed a alot of concerts especially it was in the city and I lived in the provice. Plus, my mom didn't let me watch theconcert because I was too young when they went here. But I will be able to see them live one day.

Like you I was already in Kpop Train since 2007 as a multi-stan tand the first time I got into BTS was back 2010 / 2011 when they still in the mist of looking for members and didn’t real know if they be a group or not. It was the first three members RM, SUGA and JHope who signed first during 2010 if i’m not mistaken on top of BIGHIT was also holding an audition event within the same year into 2011. I had a feeling Suga was going to be my bias during that time but the moment I heard news about a new boy group through youtube & several social media platforms I dived in trying my best to keep up with it and there was a point where Hobi almost left twice because it wasn’t what he thought it would be at first but I’m so glad he didn’t there was also allot of hate toward RM & SUGA for making the decision of leaving the underground rap scene but they didn’t that negativity get to them and continued forward they finally finished being formed. They released so much content during their pre-debut; I don’t remember allot and once they made an official debut in 2013 It took them two whole years of extreme hard work to the point where they would literally collapse to finally get their first win and long deserved recognition which continued up hill after that. *My first official MV was their debut “No More Dream” which was released here in the US on June 12 2013 but it was already 13th for them; I stopped breathing when I seen the video pop up in youtube and I couldn’t wait to watch it and I was immediately hooked.*

Happy New Year! 💜 I really enjoyed watching your videos this past week. However I'd like to add a bit onto the explanation for Dionysus: (btw it actually got released first on the Persona album in 2019, but is also part of the 7 album since it consists of the three main elements of Jung's psyche model 😉) The song uses alcohol and excessive partying (which is what the god Dionysus basically stands for) as a metaphor for getting lost in your own art; basically stating that as an artist you need to get a little crazy and actually dive deep into it in order for you to actually bring out real and intense emotion. Since it was part of their Persona album, which consisted of songs that all had a theme of BTS' public face, I interpret the song as them expressing their emotions while making music and also performing on stage since these are the moments where they actually fully get lost in their art. 😊 I've actually been an ARMY since 2015 and my first MV was Danger. I don't really have an MV that REALLY got me into them since I only started being an actual fan of theirs after getting to know their personalities a bit more. 😅

2 years after you posted this and I've found your channel and I love it. Have been watching your BTS journey but had to comment on this video because your story about discovering BTS is also mine but a lot later! I resisted everything Kpop and KDrama for so long because I knew what rabbit hole it would be but when I dived in about a year ago, I went in hard and can't remember my first video either. Am trying to widen my music and TV viewing slowly and have ventured into Shinee/Taemin, SuperM and Jackson Wang so looking forward to working my way through your videos to those.
