Squier has been on a roll for quite some time now, and the recent releases from 2022 and 2023 really do offer quite a lot for very little money. In this video, I will try to clear up the Squier Telecaster range, and bring you an in-depth comparison between the Affinity Series, Classic Vibe 50's, and Classic Vibe 60's Telecasters.
Thank you for watching and if you liked the video, like and subscribe :)

Great video. So comprehensive, realistic and fair. I had been going to by a Fender Player Tele and saw another YT about the Squier CV50s. On a whim I looked it up on Amazon Warehouse returns and to my astonishment there was one there for... wait for it... £223.00. The condition was described as 'used but acceptable' which did worry me slightly but with a 30-day no quibble refund I had nothing to lose. It arrived next day in pristine condition. It sounded superb although the action was a bit high. I picked it up from the luthier today and it is truly stellar. I would urge anyone to strongly consider the CV50s. It is a real keeper.

Bought a Squier Telecaster 50's Vibe yesterday. Gorgeous 2 colour Sunburst and and a great sounding set of coils. It was also setup out the box for me. Win Win. I could not get on with the Butterscotch Tele 50's American Original that cost me 4 times the price and sold that on on. I love this Squier.

I've had a 50's Telecaster Classic Vibe butterscotch for a few years. I listened and played many. Fender Players and even American. Listened to several different recordings and from a blind test most of my choices were the same, the 50's Squire Classic Vibe butterscotch was to my taste! I now have a 50's Squire Strat Classic Vibe that is an absolute joy to play. I have health issues and in the mid section is some of it. So that tummy cut, extremely lightweight, easy chords/ scale, surprising sound with pick-ups and electronics is a great guitar. It resonates like an acoustic! I have intestinal blockages due to a shotgun blast I received while working. I can get certain chords and riffs that vibrate through me and I swear it helps things. I own a high end Martin Dreadnought, but due to comfort and size this little Strat is easy on the back and unplugged has remarkable sound for a solid body electric.

Yeah, I am waiting for my second Strat Classic Vibe 50s now, because the first one I ordered, while excellent, had factory fret issues that I can't overlook (not fully tapped into the wood, so much so, that if I bend the E1 string down past the fret edge, it will get stuck UNDER the fret and remain there, not acceptable). But the guitar sounds and plays so good that I am willing to go through the hassle of order and return until I get a good piece and then enjoy it :) White Blonde for the Strat this time around (first one I ordered was red which is lovely) and I am hoping that hte White Blonde will look as good as I've seen it look on some of the images :) I think that the Pine is the key to the vibrations that you can hear and feel on both of the 50s guitars, and it's just an absolute joy to play an instrument that physically connects and communicates music with you :)

@@MyDeepGuide Yes. Such a better explanation. When I chose the burst Strat, there was a green with matching headstock that was very good also. Feel was about the same but sound, when I played and the tech helping, to me the burst was better. He thought the green was the 🐝 knees. Another Fender I have thought seriously on is the Mexico Tele double humbucker with coil split. The one I fell for was a heavy metal flake teal color. Reason I passed one tone pot control seems a small bit bent. No go, but it played and sounded extremely well. Plus the tummy cut was there. Hope you get you 50's Strat and can't put it down my friend. New Sub.

I've got a 2012 Stratocaster Classic Vibe 60's, back then they were made in China and had medium jumbo frets. C shape neck and a bit narrower than the usual C shape neck. After a couple of years I replaced the bridge pickup with a DiMarzio DP184 to get a similar hambucker sound on a single coil and it's one of my favourite guitars. Great build quality, playability and sound. I reach for it more than another more expensive guitar I have.

🤩I am soo happy for this video. I have been looking for my first guitar. You have no idea how many videos I have watched and still was confused. When I saw this notification, I screamed with joy because I knew you were going to do an amazing review. You did! These videos may not get the views your e-ink videos do but please make one for Ibanez entry level guitars or Epiphone Les Paul. I know they would be more informative than what I have seen on KZbin. Again, thank you soo much for this video. It might take time but it will find its audience.

Thank you very much! :) Well, that was the idea, and I am very happy to hear that it hits the mark! Yeah, views are a secondary aim when I make videos like these. It's mainly what I personally really love, and also try to combine with useful bits of information, usually stuff that I couldn't find when doing my own research. So yeah, some more are coming, as well as my upgrade and setup story of the Squire 50's vibe that I kept :)

Boy that WAS a deep dive. As you say, it's all personal and I'm glad you chose the one that was right for you. Personally they all sounded great in their own right (your playing helped) I recently bought the Squier Affinity Telecaster Deluxe Maple Fingerboard Black Pickguard (Black) and it was 99% perfect out of the box. Sounds great through my Joyo American Sound pedal into a clean Boss Katana. I also have a G&L Tribute ASAT Special (Tele style) which while twice the price and has different pickups, also sounds terrific. I've also got a Squier 40th Anniversary Telecaster Vintage Edition MN (Satin Mocha) on the way which I love the sound of from the few YT demos I've listened too. Basically, my approach is that all guitars have their own voice and should be enjoyed for what they are. But that's me :) Thanks for your video.

Bravo!!! Great review video. Encore! Encore! So many YT reviews cross over comparing brand against brand, which is OK, but as you pointed out comparing models within brands is infinitely more valuable. When reviewers do brand Vs brand it' becomes confusing, like, which model is that within the line? Personally, i would really enjoy more guitar reviews such as this i.e. model Vs model within brands. It's obvious that you put a lot of time into this vid, but please be assured it was time well spent. Once again, ENCORE!!!

The CV has a couple of strikes against it. It has a sticky neck, and faux vintage tuners and bridge. The Affinity has modern tuners and a proper six saddle bridge. It also has a much nicer matte finish on the neck. The benefit of the CV are the AlnicoV pickups which are superior to the ceramic pickups on the Affinity. So what you do is buy the affinity and upgrade the pickups to Fender Tex/Mex pups. You get a killer guitar and it’s still inexpensive. As to knocking the Butterscotch finish, that’s probably the most popular finish on a Tele, but the sunburst is very nice too.
@MyDeepGuide
@MyDeepGuide 8 ай бұрын
I'm not knocking the finish, I love the Butterscotch finish, when it is done on a guitar that has something nice to show. These don't (which is completely understandable for the price point) and the combination is simply not a pleasant one, visually.

I appreciate the video but there were several of us lucky enough to find a few factory screw ups that were MIM that were very well done and Fender actually was trying to re collect and buy back because they were a Fender series they were releasing later with the Alder Body and beautiful Maple Neck so in truth for $249 or in my case I bought the first one for $189 and the second for $220 and after playing a few days seeing similarities of actual Fender models I ordered my Dimarzio Pick Ups and turned the first one into a Richie Kotzen with the Chopper - T and Twang King and it caught on because several companies who didn't sell back to Fender installed those pickups in their guitars and sold on REVERB for anywhere between $1,400 - $2,000 and sold them all .. My 2 as I said I made one like the Richie Kotzen and then the second with the Area - T and Tone Zone - T for a more of a classic sound and I have been offered $2,400 for these guitars and I have not taken anyone up on it.. Even tho they are Squire Affinity series they are amazing sounding and playing guitars. I did tell one guy I would trade him for a Richie Kotzen model so I have one in Ash but I couldn't help but be proud of the these guitars and whether it be my Guitar Tech who brings these to life for me Squire has become a name that many are seeing more Quality Control in then when they pay big dollars for a FENDER anything.. The Squires have made the top of reviews for a while now and I think what is keeping people from realizing the truth about these quality instruments is that there is only ONE ENDORSED musician with Squire and others are talked out of it.. If I was to go back out and play again I think I would leave most of my fancier guitars at home and I could do just fine playing my Squires and Maybe my Music man Axis so i have single and Hum covered but that Chopper T in a Alder Body is huge sounding much to my surprise much like Richie's Ash body and I believe i could get away with just my 2 Tele's if I planned it right.. I would usually take my Jem's and my RG450 - RG550 models out being Basswood and all sounding very similar with being DiMarzio Pickups but this day and age some of these cheaper guitars as they say with a great tech to go over it and catch a fret that snags or something simple you would be set from the Jump 2 Squire Tele's a couple Pedals and I use my EVH amp or my Carvin Legacy and I can play with the best of them.. Remember honestly if you get lucky and find a comfortable guitar with great tone you can always upgrade so it becomes a top shelf piece of art but don't let names and players fool you because some of the greatest guitars in history were made from parts of everything and now many are priceless..

Hi Voja, we share our hobbies. E-Ink and guitars. So thanks for this awesome comparison video.🤠 How did your grounding issue work out? Did you find a way to get rid of it? I just bought a Squire Classic Vibe 50‘s directly from fender at the pre-black-friday-sale. And it has the same humming as shown in your video. It is awesome, except of this issue. So I am not sure, if I should return it to fender or keep it and try to work on the shielding. In the video, you said you kept the 50‘s guitar despite of the buzzing.

Okay. In my case it was an easy fix. The output jack was a bit loose from the factory. As soon as I had tightened it, the humming was gone - or at least it was down to the expected level of single coil humming.

Both affinities and the 50s vibe had a deeper bass tone the 60s was more mid and treble.

Don't be fooled by all the wonderful advertising. I bought a brand new Squire Classic Vibe 60s Telecaster on January 4, 2024. Right out of the box, the pickups didn't work. I had to wiggle the three way switch to get any sound out of it. I took it back to the store the very next day and got my money back. They tried the guitar themselves in the store and started to appologize to me as they also found that it wasn't working.

Yeah, quality control seems to be sketchy on the CV as well. I just returned a Squier stratocaster CV 50's, as it had various severe factory faults that never should have been allowed to pass QC. However, the replacement of the same model I ordered is absolutely fantastic and spot on, like my Telecaster CV 50's, so it's a but hit and miss, but it's worth the hassle, as a good one is truly an excellent instrument.

Never seen that grounding issue in these guitars. Odd.

Yeah, I agree, but 4 out of 4 is also odd.

I'll never understand this... If you don't like long videos, why would you click to watch one, and then complain about the length 🤔?

@@MyDeepGuide to get the information which you didn't even provide lol. At the end of how the different guitars feel you don't even talk about it lol.
