If you ever run out of brown sugar you know you can make your own if you have a bottle of molasses syrup. My Gma taught me that. The darker you want the sugar just add a little more syrup and keep mixing until it's all incorporated.. That's a lil DIY tip! Amazing job with the ole school cooking!!! One note: you don't need Karo syrup or Mrs. Butterworth to add sweetness. If you avoid those you don't have to worry about high fructose corn syrup. It increases blood sugar to the extreme and extended use cause diabetes and leaky gut. Honey and brown sugar in the beans in enough.Not criticizing at all just offering a different cooking tip.
