We just had our Thanksgiving meal yesterday as we're living in England and were only off for the weekend. My daughter was so excited when I got home from work on Friday and she had washed up from school because it was pie baking day! We've eaten Thanksgiving day all over again today and it's just been wonderful. We video called our family here and in Texas and it is feeling so like the magic of Christmas is close. Completely excited to hear you ending with let the holiday content begin! Woop woop! Blessings to you all!

For my apple pie filling I put in a small layer of apples a good sprinkle of apple pie spice and tapioca to soak up any juice a tablespoon pop of sugar and a few daps of butter. I then pile on the rest of apples and repeat spices, etc.

Hello from Sunny Queensland, Australia. If you want to make a steam catcher for your slow cooker get a tea towel and put your lid on it and trim it down giving it a good 7.5 cm/3 inch leeway and sew a tight ring of elastic on it. So you will have a washable reusable steam cloth.

We use mayo but put it under the skin. It keeps the turkey breast so tender .Living in the south we fry our turkey's. I wish I could make your pretzel salad but no one in my family likes jello or pretzels. We normally make green bean casserole but this year we had corn casserole. It was awesome. I think it is now going to be a tradition.

The lattice looks great! I was going to make a lattice this year but my pie dough was too delicate and crumbly to work with. Instead of peach pie I pivoted and made peach cobbler. Yesterday I made a turkey pot pie with a top crust only. It was delicious, tender, and flaky, but it was not beautiful. That’s what I get for making my own without a practice pie or two before the big day.

I cook my apple pie with raw apples but I cut mine differently. I first core it and cut it into 8 pieces and then each slice I slice into tiny triangles. Everyone who has eaten it loves it and finds it easier to eat than when there are larger pieces in it

Great video. I make compound butters with herbs. I buy the herbs on plants when in season. Clip them bare and make compound butters. I put them in the fridge until firm (in a log). When firm i cut them into tablespoon portions. Pop them in a freezer bag. Then I always have fresh herbs. 99% my recipes call for herbs and butter. For the others I just use dried.

We always cook our apples because they reduce in volume as they cook. If you have a lattice top over the uncooked apples, you typically end up with an air gap between the top and the filling.

I always use raw apples in my pie...I like them tender crisp and when you use a cooked filling the fruit gets cooked twice and you lose more nutrition....I’m still waiting to see you make your own crust. It will be perfect. Love the lattice too. That’s my fav way. Apple is my fav.
