I swear this woman could have been my mom talking about my dead brother. She always played favorites with him and he got away with everything. He was put on a pedestal. My parents practically canonized him because he was the golden boy jock. Once it was discovered that my brother was on the wrong side of the law, as far back as middle school, they asked him to his face what he was doing. He denied, lied and deflected all of their questions while pretending that it was all a great big misunderstanding. Being the stupidly optimistic individuals that they were, they decided to accept what he had said as fact instead of cleverly rehearsed fiction. By the time he was in high school, his acting out had gotten worse. They finally decided to put their feet down and get him into therapy. A lot of good it did. He had lived without anything resembling consistent discipline or boundaries for over a decade and a half. We thought he had turned over a new leaf when he enlisted in the military. He made it 90% of his enlistment before he chose to leave voluntarily after getting busted while driving under the influence. Not just booze, but narcotics. Many of you who have served in the American military know that an Article 15 is not a career ender, but he couldn't handle the humiliation of losing rank or having to perform extra duty while all of his buddies whispered about him. I think part of the reason why my brother chose to leave with his tail between his legs was because he wasn't used to being the one who was picked on or mocked. When we were kids, he was a bully and ran with a tough crowd. All of a sudden he was on the other end of the stick and he didn't like it. For the following 20 years after that, he lived off of the government on his well-earned benefits but chose to spend his government check on drugs, partying and going in and out of rehab. He died right before last Thanksgiving. I still haven't cried. It's hard to grieve for the person who used to beat me up and, at one point, tried to kill me.

He clearly has made more than 1 extremely poor decision and seems to have a good mother. It’s a sad story all around. At the end of the day, you can raise someone in the best way possible and they can still be a good person most of the time, but if they make even 1 really bad decision it could negatively change their life and those around them. I've been in the middle of robberies many times , im from Chicago , go figure, if isn't elderly ppl or children in danger , i'd stay put ..,anyways , from that confrontation 9 cops were fired , 2 plain clothes were buried behind desk duty permanently, because they were thinking that I wasn't going to take action, i had a big tires ford bronco fitted with a CV radio and my wife was recording everything at the other end... About 3 weeks later a window was busted and of course the CV radio was gone ,along with 3,800 worth of slashed tires ... and ppl think the police will help this guy...
