I worked for Lyft for three years. One of my passengers in 2019 opened the door without looking at traffic. My door got hit by a vehicle and the driver got away. Lyft refused to cover the damage. But I put so much pressure on them until they had paid a part of the damage, which was almost $1000 and my part was $1700. Once my vehicle got repaired, I quit working for Lyft. A few months later, I sued them for mass arbitration and won $10,000

Commercial Insurance cost is biggest barrier to legal cash rides. The Feds, or any state or city can declare Rideshare a public utility, and provide drivers a state commercial insurance at reasonable cost that you can buy by day, week, month, or year; just like when you rent a car. This creates a legion of cash drivers and real competition for Uber & Lyft. The miracle of competition will LOWER rider cost & RAISE driver pay AND expand the market & services. The Uber Lyft monopoly is the problem and the ability of independent contractors to set the price.

@@wturner777 no! They kicked me off! They withdrew from the state of ga! I end up receiving a MVR violation .. expired tag due to lapse of insurance in GA. The judge didn’t want to hear it. Put me on probation and I lost the job because of it

Ride share insurance really has just gone up to wtf I was paying $250 last year per month now I’m paying $580 We struggle as it is and make very little we need a break from all the bs

The insurance uber and lyft provide are not there for the drivers. Drivers should absolutely have rideshare driving insurance and full coverage as well as uninsured and under insured coverage. Lyft and uber cannot tell you to do this. Because of liability concerns which are legit. There is nothing wrong with this practice.

i myself been injured from last one and years and Lyft have not done anything at all ... These companies are just using drivers and leave them on curve when they got in accident ..i lost so much Income And I am still Not able to work ,, that was my full time job

Its to expensive for drivers and its a joke , most coverage only covers the drive to getting the passenger and not (period 2 or 3 while the passenger is actually in the car) when in actuality these drivers should get discounts, Uber and Lyft drivers are the most experienced drivers on the road. They drive for hours on end, days and years learning defensive driving. I gave over 20,000 rides and have never hit anyone and I live in one of the most aggressive states in the Nation. My policy should be dropping with rewards.

@@kamiperzsi7495 idk how old u are but even in ur personal auto insurance one of the 1st questions they ask u is on avg how many miles u drive? and of course most ppl put the lowest # possible so they can get a lower rate, bc the more u drive more of a chance ur gonna get into a car accident, not necessarily bc of u, bc of other ppl. Well ur extremely lucky and ur situation is unique, bc i get at least 1 claim a day for UBER/LYFT, its more expensive bc ur transporting ppl and if anyone gets hurt in ur cars U ARE LIABLE! yea ppl get in fender benders and want a paycheck that is going to chg their lives, imagine what ppl want if they were in an UBER? lol OH yea not counting the millions of new uninsured drivers in the roads, what does a UBER driver do when someone who is not from this country hit them and their passengers?!?!? EXACTLY! but hey keep thinking u deserve a discount, until reality hits.

@@kamiperzsi7495 UBER, doordash, un insured ppl driving, increase in car prices, parts is all connected, I am not defending company greed but most auto insurance companies are public, go look at the income statements, see it for urself, they have been loosing money since 2020, and its all bc ppl wanna take shortcuts, and here are the results, health, home and auto insurance, maybe UBER should offer a discounted insurance? maybe u shouldnt uber bc its not worth the pay and the wear n tear on UR CAR that us have a LOAN on? maybe UBER should pay depreciation?

It's because majority of people don't know about it because the rideshare companies accept your insurance as is when signing up. They don't educate you on additional and not every personal insurance provider offers rideshare insurance
