Hopefully this comes to NY. I just spent the last 4 days trying to find an insurance agency to underwrite a policy for me to do rideshare. I called progressive, who I've been with for almost a decade, and haven't had a claim in 6 years...they borderline treated me like a criminal for even asking to do it. Finally got in touch with an insurance agent broker through AAA and he found someone for me. Also warned me that Progressive might cancel my policy now because I inquired about Uber. Absolutely crazy. I don't blame the 25% of drivers for not reporting it to their insurance. Doing so causes a giant headache for you.

Some insurance companies will cancel you if you don't have rideshare insurance and you get in an accident.

15.00 dollars does not seem to be much of a price difference to stick with a reputable company that's been around for decades versus the startup that doesn't have the capital to back itself up is more like a you know take money from one direction to send it to another direction type of business

Problem with VOOM is that they don’t answer the phone, don’t return voicemails and I left my email in a voicemail and not any communication from them via email and it’s been more than a month. Guys get your shi* together…

The prices were not cheaper for me. Possibly cheaper liability only coverage. The colision was double what I pay for all 3 period full coverage.
