This is great! I am a professional grant writer in the US and as soon as you started talking I thought, she needs a grant! But you are 100% right, $10K is not much at all to bring a film to completion - enough to cover a part of the costs but not nearly everything. So I donated a small bit and hope others will too. And you’ll be able to enter it in film festivals too which will get this story a wider audience. I’ve been a follower for a while now and I really appreciate your channel!

Call the WGC and the DGC to know if they have artisanal contracts for you. I work for the SARTEC (writers guild but for french authors in Québec-Canada) and we help small producers with there contrats so they can understand laws, broacasting licences and the producers obligations etc. Congrats and good luck with your documentary!

Thank for the tips! We do fortunately get some support and training from Telus around broadcast so I *think* I have my releases and everything sorted but it's always great to have more resources!

@@MyGreenCloset better be more informed than sorry, broacaster might need less releases-agreements then the Canada Media Fund (if you decided to submit your project for a program) and-or when you will need to buy an errors and omissions insurance, the insurance broker will probably be way more pickier then broacaster.
