MyKayla has a very low amplitude (I think that’s the word? She doesn’t fly very high) but her twisting form is really nice.

Yeah Jade gets a good block on this vault but Myk has better form. Jade has a bigger leg separation on the preflight and slightly bent knees twisting.

I really feel Jade is overscored on Vault, 2019 worlds her sloppy cheng was scored higher than the girl behind her (Downie I think?) I saw a head to head video and Jade's was obviously worse

Ellie Downie was absolutely robbed. The judges bunch the E scores terribly on vault and still rank by difficulty even though the code accounts for that already with the D score. Simone got similarly underscored last quad before she upgraded her second vault.

The finals judges dinged her fairly but Jade beating Simone even with the bounce was just bad judging.

ALL judges should have to look at this video before judging Jade and Mykayla on this vault because this is just proof that Mykayla's Cheng is way better than Jade Carey's and should score higher.

Yeah! She definitely has way better form on this vault. Looks like domestic judges rank height and distance over form. What I’d give Jade is that hers was from February so she could’ve improved her form some...

@@ar1__x86 It's not really about ranking height/distance over form. It's that it's easier to get .3 deductions for height and distance than it is to get a .3 deduction for minor form breaks.

@@glamafonic Yeah that makes sense! Since the judges can’t view vaults in slow motion like this. It would have to be a major form break to be really noticeable and give a significant deduction. Unfortunate since this is the only event where Mykayla has decent form

@@glamafonic That 2 foot wide pre-flight deduction is extremely noticeable. Jade does not get better distance. They get the same. i agree Jade has better height but not by much

@@ar1__x86 Which is why she should get credit for it. I can see the pre-flight without the slow mo so the judges should be able to see it close up. The good news is Mykayla scores better outside the US. This is why I have such a problem with the vault scoring. They complained Mykayla didn't use two hands or get any block. She improves it and the score stays the same. The international judges need to do their job. Thanks for much for doing this video :)
