Hi Derek, I‘m a fan from Germany since she started. As tickets were hard to get in prior concerts, this one in 2019 was my first one and it was a spectacular and touching experience. Mylene is one of ours Diamond, purity and talent in one and only person. She's that kind of rare artist than can give you smile then just after some tears, in a second, then make you smile again. She created a special and strong link between her and the fans. Impressive, I gotta say.

you are absolutely right that Michael Jackson and Mylene Farmer are similar in how they set up their stage-shows, musicians, dancers...etc. I guess you noticed the similarity in this costume as well, with one of Michael's famous costumes. If Michael is the King of Pop, and Mylene is the Muse of the World- well, they both have to dress accordingly, right?....lol... Mylene has a conductor who is the leader...usually the keyboard player (It was a man called Yvan Cassar for years, but he has just left) and Mylene nods her cues for the show's pacing to him. Mylene and Michael Jackson met once...in 1996 i believe. She appeared at the World Music Awards and Michael was in the audience with his kids...watching Mylene sing her then-new song "Que Mon Coeur Lache". Mylene speaks perfect English by the way. I invite you to go see her opening for her 1999 tour...called "Mylenium". She comes out of a sculpture of the head of Isis, and she floats above her audience...no strings bro...you can look and look and you won't be able to figure out how it's done....all her opening songs are off-the charts fantastic. For me, my favourite entrance will forever be 2006 Avant que l’ombre à Bercy but I agree, this is STUNNING! I also love how the stage just builds up behind her during the first song. HER PRESENCE!! Also yes she is the one who designed the stage and I love that fact abt her, a documentary of the making of/backstage 2019 concert is coming out on sept 25!!! Also a new single coming out, TODAY! Both were rumours but then on her bday (12th sept) a mystery video was released, 2 days later a documentary was announced. And now again 2 days later a single announcement! It was a thrill to watch your reaction to this video. After seeing her once during the Timeless Tour in 2013, my wife and I flew again from Toronto to Paris with tickets for June 11th and then bought tickets for the show on the 14th. We will see her again on her next tour likely seeing at least three shows. Truly a spectacle without compare. The intro was a cross of 'Close Encounters', 'Blade Runner' and yes 'Tron'. Having seen the concert live twice, the theatrical release of the concert in November of 2019, watching the concert video several times and listening to the concert audio countless times, I still got chills watching as I did tonight. The stadium she played is a full size soccer pitch which is about 300 feet along one side - her stage was about that size. The rolling Stones played three sell out nights, she played nine and to about 240,000 fans. She did not tour this show, she was resident. The sound and visual were mesmerizing beyond comprehensions. I am sure by now you have watched the entire concert video. In a huge stadium it was truly breath-taking! It was a treat for the ears (with ear plugs) but you also felt the music pass through your whole body. Then, the finale. The feeling of great loss swept over the entire stadium as silence fell upon of 28,000 plus fans feeling numb from the experience. Dereck, follow her and save you money for when she tours again. She just turned 59 so she will likely tour once more at least. Don't miss the next tour.

Interesting fact: for the album Interstellaire, Mylene collaborated with Sting (on the song Stolen Car, for which there is an official music video).

Things you probably overlooked: - The band itself is driven in around the middle of the INTERSTELLAIRE song. They are not on a static stage but actually drive in. Alone this costs so much money. - The moon box is of course expensive, but even more expensive is the fact that she needs to get up there somehow shortly before the start. So there is a whole platform up there where she can get into the moon box at the start. VERY expensive. - The stage itself also builds up while the first song, not just the band but huge elements fly into. - Just count the number of light beams there... I mean the lights that drive to the center when the moon box comes alone... are around 30-40 highend light beams. And in the back there are left and right LOTS of light beams and the top also has around 20 light beams per side on the path and the back another one... Plus the one on the bottom etc. Alone controlling and programming these are HUGE costs (cables, troubleshooting, power etc.) This whole entrance is VERY expensive. But Mylene invests it unlike for example bands like Depeche Mode who don't care at all anymore.

I was there, I saw this concert 3 times travelling specially from Barcelona to Paris in June last year. In one of them I met Sting that sung with her. You are right the atmosphere was amazing. I just read an interview of one choreograph who worked on this concert. They hired English dancers who didn’t know her. They were stunned to see the stage, the public reactions, and to work on this concert. It seems they never experienced something like that before. There will be some concerts in 2023. I was lucky enough to be there and the atmosphere was magical. The arena is grotesquely large and the spectacle was gigantomaniac, yet she managed to create an atmosphere of love and intimacy. I danced and sang along to her hits and cried to her ballads. I also like other female superstars like Madonna and Gaga, but Mylène is a thousand times better live (disclaimer: I'm not French).

The stage was tol big and complex to move and setup between venues so all nine shows were held at Paris La Défense Arena. On October 13, 2018, the tickets for the first six shows were available to the general public. Due to high demand, two more shows were announced for June 18 and 19. In February 2019, the ninth show was announced, scheduled for June 22. The 240 000 tickets were sold out!

I attended this live concert ... It was phenomenal. There were many mobile screens around with close ups of her face hence the pauses at the beginning as she looks right front and left ... We felt she was looking at us around the arena. I was lucky enough to be there when she had her duet with Sting. I have promised myself to book myself a premium seat next time and at least two nights in a row ... To take it all in ...

There's a clear reference to "Close Encounter of the Third Kind" in the visual and certain sounds during this expectation which is aroused in the spectators. She even succeeds in making them witnesses, stunned and waiting for what they'll see just like the actors in the film who witnessed the arrival of the ship. She literally transformed the spectators into actors of her entrance on stage...

Completely crazy intro !!! The first part is hypnotizing with those screens out of nowhere, those Asian faces, those voices and those robotic sounds ... Exciting anticipation... Until the apparition !!! Unbelievable. Not much to say about the song afterwards. But the poker move of her stage entrance is completely successful. Hands down.

I recall reading of an LA fan wanting to attend the 2019 tour and wondered if you would be going, so cool to read that you did. Going to see Mylene is a great excuse to travel and certainly a highlight for a trip. My wife and I flew from Toronto to see the 2019 show twice and plan to see the next three times! Love your videos, especially Mylène Farmer, she is my Diva since she started in the 80's, see i'm french Canadian and Mylène was born in Montreal in September 1969.
