I travelled from NYC to see this show in Paris.Yes it was completely sold out, she sells out stadiums with minimum promotion, just to give you an idea of her star magnitude. She's got most #1 in France than any other artist. This concert was part of a residency, so not a tour because of the complexity of the staging. And yes this was water. I had a golden circle ticket, so I stood right there so I felt the raindrops, first I was like wtf cuz it started before the music went on. Just like this one, all of her shows end on a very dramatic note! In the last tour (also a residency, and also in Paris), she walks into the flames ;) Check that out, if you like... "L'horloge 2019". Her lyrics are very poetic albeit quite complicated even for a French speaker, btw.

Well .... in my opinion it’s not the best song to make you discover Mylène BUT it’s an amazing way to show you what she can deliver on stage. Mylène is the best female record seller in France. Since 1984, 30 millions records and only 7 Tours, 11 albums. That gives you an idea why her concert are so epic. She wants each concert unique and memorable. You used the word "worship" and it’s actually true. She created a kind of mystical universe based on absence and silence. You never see her on TV, no interview, no gossip... and that creates a gap in all her fans that she fills with her concerts. Sometimes 4 or 5 years between each concert. So when she appears on stage .... we’re crying, screaming and "worshiping" her as if she was a kind of Goddess. When she sings emotional songs in a crowd of sometimes 80k people you can hear a pin drop ! It’s just amazing... She’s touching us for almost 40 years because of her lyrics. It speaks to everybody in different ways and it doesn’t age it is about War, God, homophobia, sex, the world, injustice, and of course love....). She never gives interview because everything we need to know is in the lyrics. Her signature song is Désenchanté. She's the biggest female singer in France. This concert was part of a residency she made in Bercy (that's why she could get such a big stage). This song is like a conversation of her with Jesus. She's talking about her fear of death or 'the shadow'. In the screens the almost naked person is Jesus. Then, the water courtain shows "Passè" which means "Past". Then while she is getting on the stairs a picture of her is shown in the courtain. It is the last song of the concert which makes it even more impactful

it's the story of a dying woman who's only got a few minutes left to live: as these minutes are passing by, she's remembering what she did in the past and at the same time is asking Jesus to help her in her passing ("Jesus, j'ai peur" = "Jesus, I'm scared"). when she screams " EeeeeeeeeAaaaaaaah", it's her.... dying! as she walks up the stairs, it reprensents her ascending, which is why she sheds her clothes, as in... she sheds her past and goes back to the Light, naked as she came into this Earth...

You focused too much on the fact that you don’t understand the lyrics so you blamed everything on that. Look at the symbolism! Properly!! The end is as if she’s going to give herself away (sacrifice or so) for all the ‘sins’ she has committed. There are church bells on the background too, the song starts with the piano reminding you of a clock.. maybe do some more research next time :) Also those were water curtains, not sand. Plus she is a HUGE artist in France, has sold 164k tickets in 3 hrs for 2 stadiums only in 2009 (meaning 82k tickets in 1,5 hrs)
