Let me introduce you to Mylène. She is the charts Queen in France, and a superstar in eastern europe as well. She is and has been absolutely massive in these countries since the 80s. In France she has reached the #1 seat in charts 20+ times and was present in the TOP 50 about 60 times. Her shows are epic, no equivalence in the world, next next level. Queen of intros and outros, you just see one of these outros. She is very shy but completely transforms on stage. Btw, do you believe she was 45 yo in this video 😂? And she has many many different songs. Ballads or upbeat songs, acoustic or electropop, but always with deep and sad lyrics. She is the director of her shows and also has the final word on the choregraphies. She had many duets along the years with the like of Sting, Seal or LP… She only makes tour every few years and she spends a lot of time preparing these to lake it unforgettable. Here the waterfalls that opens and closes and allows for water letters to be displayed was a world premiere. I hope you will enjoy discovering her more.

@@ericsicard910 I’d really appreciate that. I very much enjoy listening to music from other countries. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve never heard of this artist before, despite the fact that she’s so popular in many other countries and she’s been around for decades.

Many thanks for the English translation of the French. I listened to it once again after reading the lyrics. It’s very intense, for sure, and much more so when you understand clearly what she’s experiencing at the end of life. Thanks for this request, Eric, and for your insightful reaction, Harri.

Love to hear foreign language songs as they are usually mysterious and different. Mylene's beautiful voice and the gentle accompanying instruments tell a story of sadness at the end of life and the curiousity of leaving. So beautiful and thanks to Eric for the lyrics and background information.👏👏 Great reaction Handsome Harri, obviously the delivery in French got to you too. ❤❤ Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦

Nights of sleep Memory unfinished, Which knows not... where she borns Before the shadow, I know Not should descend at my feet To see the other side I know that ... I know that ... And today Mylene just released her new music video for a song from her latest album. The video exposes the stage scenes of her latest tour in 2023. Once again spectacular. And just a reminder: in this tour she was 62 yo (now 63). kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3Srhah_dpdmgbcsi=lu3_QDv8Lr1VEZhr

@@ericsicard910 just amazing, at any age, but particularly at that age. I do know that for the non French speakers (like myself) something is usually lost in the translation…like idiomatic expressions.

hello ! yes , Mylène is the best in France since 40 years ; her shows are a share of emotions (you can enjoy or cry) always in huge places (like stade de France in front of 80000 people) ; this one is the most emotionnal outro with the wall of rain (a world first) and its final climd towards another something else....... ; she's on stage in a few days (at 63's !) for three shows in the "stade de France" to complete her tour called Nevermore that 700000 spectators will have seen (largest stadium tour , 90 trucks to transport equipment , five days of assembly , Mylène is also nicknamed "madame records") ; that's why we love her so much ; greetings from France👋

Hello, i would add his special bond with the public during his concerts. And to do very rich lives, the musical arrangements (in my taste often better than the originals and evolving with the times), the costumes, the sets and lights, the choreographies, the staging, the presence, the sincerity and the Mylène's performances guarantee pure emotion. We will find this richness in these video clips regularly seeking originality through his universe. For non-French speakers these texts (lyrics) will be more complicated to approach, often poetic, or with a double meaning.

Thanks to Eric for his translation of the lyrics yet, here's the original french lyrics for you to hear, to place next to the translation for a better understanding : Âpreté des sons Tourmente des vents Mémoire... Seigneur ! Suis-je coupable ? Moi qui croyais mon âme Sanctuaire impénétrable Jésus ! J'ai peur Jésus ! MYLÈNE FARMER (real name Mylène Jeanne Gautier) sings (and is an author, composer and actress) in French and has made a career mainly in France, but she is Canadian (Province of Quebec). Her greatest hit is the song "Désenchantée"... A must listen! Thank you.
@ericsicard910Ай бұрын
She was born in Quebec but from french parents who were located there for a few years for professional reasons. They quickly relocated to France after Mylene was born and she spent her whole life in France, so she considers herself french and not quebecoise.

There are people who sing horribly and write terrible music, but being born in a crystal palace ensures their success, especially with the poor musical taste that exists. Many artists could easily create the same empty and soulless music if they wanted to, but they choose to remain authentic, even though that's not promoted much anymore. Those who don’t see it just don’t want to.

Your comment brings to mind a certain wannabe “singer” who has recently used her husband’s famous name to launch a “music career” with absolutely ZERO talent. It’s pathetic and she should be embarrassed but is literally too clueless to have any self reflection. I won’t name names but you might figure it out pretty easily. Ugh! But anyway, this song and artist are great! 💐
