I only have whole mace and whole nutmeg. Do I have to roast these before I grind them to powder in the grinder? Also, so all of the whole spices used Indian food need to be roasted before grinding? Also, When using whole cardamom pods, mace, cloves & star anise, do they have to be removed from the dish before eating? I love your videos by the way 😀

No need to roast them, they can grinded as normal to make the powder and it's up to you if you wish to remove the whole spices, I normally don't.

Yes, definitely. Just remember mutton takes a lot longer to cook than lamb.
