Great helpful video. I am going to gift Google Home to my elderly mom who can't use mobile phones. I wanted to reconfirm that once configured (which I will do for her), the mobile phone is not required for using Google Home. All it needs is access to wi-fi.

Thank you so much Vince, this is invaluable to someone like me who wouldn't have a clue!! I was going to get my daughter a bluetooth speaker for Christmas purely to play music from her iphone or Ipad-but then I realised shes always on Google for homework etc, id be better off buying her one of these! Yes, it's a real genius, till it stops and if you try to set it up a second time, it suicide time. I heard that sound, time and time again, but.... it still kept saying, "You're not connected, you have to set up with your phone or ..... and so and on and on." It doesn't matter that it's on my phone, that I've deleted it and replaced it over and over again, I still get the same message.

No matter what I do I can't get my Home unit to recognise my phone app. I've even had professionals in to do it for me and still it doesn't work. It worked for three years and just stopped one day. The HOME unit just tells me to set up the app on the phone but it's already there. It's driving me mad.
