I just want to quit drinking and doing cocaine so bad, i come home drunk and listen to his music and wish my life was better. I feel so bad for everyone that has addictions like us. I just want a nice girlfriend, a garden, a dog , and a small apt. Life is so hard sometimes, but this music makes me realize there is always hope. Thanks Elliot

@@jcm-ls5gs I’m not a huge fan of Joni Mitchell, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t an extremely talented songwriter and musician. Just because I don’t get the music in the same way others do doesn’t mean she isn’t a genius. Elliott was an extremely talented songwriter and musician, people like him are one in a billion. You’re probably trolling, so this comment is more than likely pointless, but your thought process in this regard could honestly be likened to a frustrated child. You may never enjoy Elliott’s music, but to deny his quite obvious talent (lyrics, guitar playing, creativity etc.) just becomes objectively wrong at some point.

Double up the vocal tracks for the melody, then at least 2 more harmonies off the chord, so easily 4 vocal tracks at any given time. Lemme find this GREAT clip uploaded recently; they cleaned out a song down to just vocals isolated, and it's insane how well the harmonies layered and the melodies punched; knowing that he laid the harmony tracks down after minimal experimenting to find the harmonic thread he's chasing after, suddenly arriving basically wholly formed, and then just recorded each layer, often nailing a keeper take cold or with just a pass or 2 before calling it and moving on. Check for the clip in the edit.

@ALeonardoA116 People who kill themselves paradoxically are people who love life much easier. Elliott was injured irreversibly in its infancy, the pain has always accompanied. But at the same time, the person who was, which is really beyond the wounds, is a person deeply human, intelligent, sensible, emotional, sweet, generous. Elliott loved words, loved to express himself, communicate, excite others and himself. For this he could not tolerate that his childhood was fouled forever.

Everything's okay Walks along the dock With some sailor's pay Shoved down in his sock Everything's okay With some little boy in blue Who don't know you like I do Everything's okay Took him back to town Well, I didn't get paid today So I'm in the lost and found And I wonder if that clown Knows just what to do What to say and what not to BoyWithUke 'Toxic' Official Lyrics & Meaning | Verified BoyWithUke 'Toxic' Official Lyrics & Meaning | Verified The pretty words that you whispered Maybe I misunderstood Somebody's not paying attention What they promised and their word isn't good Everything's okay I'm looking for you now Down here by the bay Where the water pounds Up against the wall That I'm coming to Because I can't stay away from you I don't need no satisfaction And I don't take just because I can Sometimes I get a strong impression That you just don't understand That kind of man Everything's okay I can see your face Down there in the waves Painted and erased But I'm told it's just The reflection of the moon A big fake resembling you I'm going to go down in the water And fill my mouth up full of sand And I'll be waiting still impatient With my dead imagination While you're with some other man Everything's okay I'll be with you soon I'm walking out to place My arms around the moon Yeah, I'll be with you soon Just as soon as I pay I'll walk across the water Everything's okay Walk on the water Everything's okay

2019 Almost all of Elliott's lyrics are deep as philosophy and disturbing as psychology.

I was thinking more like the last two versus. We all tap into this type of perfection & make of it what we like. That's the beauty of music Stay sweet Kieron ( Another Eden)

I'm really fkcdkup, Me and my ex girlfriend broke up after 7 years. 8 months are passed and I'm going down, therapy doesn't help, covid make the things even worse, I don't have any friends, the only thing that I have for me now is Elliott's song and this line hit me hard: While you're with some other man , Everything's okay. Hope to see Elliott soon as possible, Stay strong everyone.

When you need someone to tell you everything's okay, it comforts your heart.

I don't think everything is okay in this song. It sounds to me like a girl he loved wanted someone else (who might have been more successful) but didn't have the heart to tell him, and being the lightning rod for pain that he is, Elliott found out anyway, watched them together, then drowned himself. In the song, I mean.

Alan Tipert I'm wondering if he's talking about heroin. He can't get away from it. He prostitutes himself to sailors in the dock for money for another hit. That kind of stuff.

+Alan Tipert Yeah, I think that's the literal narrative of the song, though I can't say I'm completely certain even about that. I the song is multifaceted in it's meaning, but I've stopped puzzling over it, because, to me, Elliott's music is mostly about the emotion behind the songs, rather than the meaning.

If you need someone to bring you up, sorry but Elliott is NOT the person to listen to.

Jilted lover - it feels like yesterday - if you have felt this way you can relate to these lyrics, cause, at that time of your life, you hate happy people in love with each other because, they got what they wanted for christmas! Santa stood you up and you begin to despair! Like the gut reaction I have when I see one of those signs hanging in people's houses (LIVE, every moment, LAUGH, every day, LOVE, beyond words.) "Easy for you to say fuck head what would know about it?" Great bare bone lyrics! i'm a fan...
