Hi Alan,I totally enjoyed hearing the awesome purring sound of your Diesel engine,as your narrowboat cruising through the still water of the canal, creating such a great swell on either side of the boat, the gentle thrusting of the propeller blades,as that glides around beneath the water line, pushing the narrowboat forward, the gentle turning of the tiller arm, guiding the boat on an even keel. Stay safe and carry on with your engine purring along the canal,,tony⛴

Hi Tony. I really enjoyed my time on the Ashby Canal and am glad to share it with you. I made a series of videos, which I hope you will enjoy watching. Cheers

That red diesel boat you moored beside was so pretty. Rain again🙄 but hey you had ☕️😁 and you made good use of the time 👍🏻 We have had a fairly rainy year in Virginia also, but we probably don’t hold a candle to the UK’s rain. That cruiser was FLYING!

Know what you mean about the editing as soon as I get back from my trips out I have to lock myself away until it's all done which is what I have been doing yesterday and today so your lovely vlog has been a welcome break.

Cabin Cruiser Adventure - thanks very much, very pleased you liked it. Editing is unfortunately a time consuming business!

What a difference a day makes, you are wise to take a rest day in the worst of the weather, no point in getting cold and wet...Maybe those that are cruising, are up against the clock? ....nice tease at the end ha ha!

The Ramblings of Bry Many thanks, all will be revealed next week. I think you’re right, some people have deadlines to meet, particularly hire boaters, so have to persevere in the bad weather, whilst I can rest up.

Another great vlog, Alan. That swing-bridge is very light and simple to use and it also makes life so much easier it being narrow there... being able to hop off and on.

Many thanks Dave. I was fortunate in that someone shut it for me and when I returned, someone else opened and shut it. But yes agreed all straightforward.

Just as I was getting towards Yelvertoft today, you popped into my mind, and there you were working on your boat, keep up the good work and keep enjoying your water life. My camera is only doing time-lapse of my trip, but there you are for a split second!! I'll upload when I get home towards the end of August.

tangs167 It was nice to see you, many thanks for saying hello and even more thanks for your very kind remarks. Enjoy your travels. I’ve got nothing planned presently, as I have some off cut commitments through August. Cheers. PS where do you upload your footage

Hi Alan, and greetings from Louisville, KY alongside the Ohio River in the US! I know this comment is on a year old video, but I'm getting caught up on a few I missed on and off (and just enjoying re-watching them serially), and noticed something I think I'd missed the first time I watched it last year. The winding hole with the bridge over it is most likely what I think was called the Brinklow Arm? Thanks as always for sharing the videos - I love your presentation and incredibly fair look at the canals. You're very upbeat but I love the fact you show us the tough parts as well as the easy parts, plus the videos on the care and maintenance overall. Thanks again, and hope you're doing well!

Hi Sean, many thanks for your comment, you're spot on, it is the mouth of the Brinklow Arm. Thanks for supporting my channel, I'm glad you enjoy the variety I provide. I try and remain cheery, I'm fine and hope you and yours are. All the best Alan.

Another nice vlog Alan, one I enjoyed & the extra length was a nice bonus. A pleasant change seeing you inside doing the editing towards the end and the bit to camera. Only a thought, but would your cooking skills be up to maybe filming an evening meal?
@MyNarrowboatVenture5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks Nigel, glad you liked the longer length. I don’t cook and I am what might be considered a fussy eater, so I’m afraid not. I do use the oven for ready to cook items like breaded chicken products or fishcakes or such like but I don’t cook from raw ingredients.

hi Alan i love watching your vlogs and your huge smile makes our day keep uploading them please as we love to watch your journeys !! , Also what do you use for your pictures and how do you put hem together what app /software do you use for the editing , Thanks Clive in nottingham .

Thanks Clive. I’m pleased to hear you like watching my channel. I use Pinnacle Studio 22 Ultimate. I have been having some issues with it but having talked to other boat-tubers, they also have occasional issues with their software. I’ve been using various versions of it for over 15 years and whilst I think a change might be good I am reluctant to do so. Another vid out tomorrow. Cheers

Why have the sides and hedgerows been allowed to grow so much? There's a lot of work there for maybe community service and Prisoners as well as volunteers. Get it all back in order, what a great facility if towpaths all opened up for walkers etc. Neat and tidy, better for everybody.

Hi Dan - I’m not sure what’s planned for this Winter but last year there was a lot of offside vegetation cutting on several local canals including the Coventry Canal working out from the basin. I’m sure this will continue.
