It’s a great place out there, I’ve been out twice now and launched from the “beach” first. The mud is prolific and stinky, so I think I’ll stick with the launch for all of my future visits. I headed out Tuesday morning and picked up 8 reddies in a couple of hours before work, they were everywhere!

Yep Tyler the readies were everywhere, unfortunately lots of small ones but lotsa fun too. The mud at the Warren in the summer is terrible for biting bugs so I use the launch pontoon there too. Might see you on the water some day but enjoy either way.

@@albyskayakstuffaustralia3215 no matter the size, I was stoked to real in my first fish on the yak after being on the water for all of a minute! They taste bloody beautiful as well! I’m a southerner, but keen to check out the northern ressies soon and more inshore stuff along the coast as well. I’ll keep an eye out for you mate

Nice work Alby, Yes the pontoon/slide is too narrow for my PA 14.

Yes and nearly too narrow for my K2F 11.5. Hopefully SA Water will adjust new installs.

the road entrance to the launch sit i s full of pot holes and very bumpy , car parkm is good ,you do not need a permit to fish SA resivors ,the site says you do but if you ring SA water they will tell you you do not need a permit to fish the dams, what the permit allows you to do is use a net in the resivors , interesting ! we need to be able to use battery operated motors in all resivors and acces to the launch site by car for us older fokes , not have to walk hundreds of meters to launch a kayak like south para ,where a new car park is allway locked ?? what a waist of money and even further away from launch site ?? let get the kayak site upgraded please SA water ,they have the $$$ use it !

John Yates, I am not sure who you spoke to at SA Water but you do need a permit to access the Reservoirs; I have one and the conditions are stated on the permit. I suggest you qualify your comments with some factual documentation which you can post on the SA kayak fishing facebook pages. I am 63, have recently had spinal surgery so get what you are saying about the launch areas but I manage with a trolley for a large 50+ kg kayak. Re motors on the reservoirs I personally am not in favour even though I will get on at some stage. Thanks for your thoughts, AQ

Absolute crap launching facilities not very well thought out

I think when the water levels are up it is ok however I hear there is now a new drop off point either open now or coming soon. That should help a lot. Agree that when it was with the long haul and low water level that it was bad.
