You can see it on true crime podcasts if you listen to them from Spotify. They have to record as they are speaking to a microphone and then retake if something goes wrong. They edit the right parts for the podcast then. The podcast episode might be 30 minutes long or something, but in reality they may have spoken to that microphone for hours.
