I want to use the exact recipe for the short bread cookies. How's the texture? Are they crunchy and firm or are they really soft and delicate? Also, how much brown food dye did you add to the cookie dough to make it darker and what type of brown food dye did you use? Lastly, what type of frosting did you use for the eyes, vines, and grass?

Should the shortbread dough be chilled? I tried to make these tonight followed the recipe for the shortbread cookies and the dough was too soft and my groots kept breaking apart when I tried to put them on the cookie sheet.
