I am so glad that Paul; someone that was left isolated and bullied at school without knowing why, was presented with this opportunity to show his true talents in this show. He got his chance and he took it and earned the respect that he deserves. This teaches us that every different or strange or bullied person has something they have special that they don't always have the chance to show. Amazing job Paul!

I know this is from many years ago, but I HAVE to comment here. I was fighting tears as Paul sang (I love to sing this song too), because I know what a struggle he had in his life. He did not deserve any of the hardships he suffered up until he auditioned for BGT, and then his life changed for the better, which was not really a surprise, because he was brimming over with talent. I applaud him as I did on his first appearance, and then at this performance, and I have applauded him ever since and will continue to do so. I am so pleased he got that standing ovation. Long may he reign as a much loved singer, a special guy, an ordinary one, whose determination won him a rightful place in the world of entertainment. I would offer a belated thank you to the judges too, for seeing his potential from the start.

Paul Potts is one of the lucky ones to survive the kinds of bullying and hatred many children are subjected to just because he was different in ways I bet his bullies cannot even put into words. It makes me wonder how many victims of bullying never got the chance or simply never tried to succeed because they were so crushed by the experience. Score 1 for a nice guy,

I've been watching Paul's career unfold for over a decade and a half now, and it belatedly dawned on me that he wasn't simply getting better: when he first stepped up on the BGT stage, whether he realised it or not, he was stepping through a door, leaving his old life behind, and walking into a new world. He doesn't simply dig down deep into himself when he sings: he seems to surrender himself to his instrument, his talent, and lets it out, so that he's probably as much of a spectator as the rest of us to his own talent. His instinct for beauty is something that goes far beyond raw talent or even words. I've heard a good many singers over the years (classical), and only a handful who had something truly transcendent, that's more then the sum total of its parts. It's an insult to say that this mixture of talent and hard work is god-given. It's the man himself who's something special.

There are so many people super-talented that don't open up to others because they were bullied when young, become too shy and unaware of the change they can make, if we could only find it in ourselves to be more accepting, more permisive, to not judge someone by their looks but by their spirit, i'm sure this world would be such a great place to live in!Thank you, Paul!
