NICE SUZI...Jus finally finished a 1991 Honda CR250 for a friend, 70 some hrs.. I'm looking for a 79 Suzuki RM 250, I Bought one brand new in 79 and started racing MX. Scott boots, Bell Moto 3, Scott goggles, Yoko pants, jersey and gloves, Gold kidney belt, Sinasalo Chest Protector. All blue & yellow. Everyone thought I was cherry picking cause I looked a factory rider, I just so happened to be working at a motorcycle shop at the time and had the newest stuff available to me before other people could get it. People were taking pictures of my bike thinking it was trick, COMPLETELY Different than the 78 1/2, nobody had this new model at the time, I bought the first one in town ( Fresno, CA.) Photographers were taking my picture on the track, kinda tripping me out, but got two 4th's for a forth overall in my first race, out of 36 riders, Rubber band start. Want to find one a 79 and restore it😎👌. I had a 77 RM250 B before it that i got used from the Suzuki school of Motocross here in California, they taught riders how to ride motocross for a one week each, for a month and then sold the bikes, My brother and I bought 2 of them for $850.00 each. Oh the memories 😊 I'm jus say'n, Flodaddy ❤

Good to see you get more seeing as you made short work of the CR an done such a good job on her .Good choice too .Quite scarce bikes in the uk really now pre 85 SUZUKI RMs . I did see an Rm 400 at our last vinduro event it looked great too . There is usually a couple of PE enduro 250 suzuki of similar vintage tho . Check out your area for local classic enduros . Im up in northumberland and well the first event up here was the 19th of march and had riders from as far as exeter and wales . All ages of competitor and some ladies even take part so its great to see . 😁

I just love the way you include us on all the cleaning and restoring of parts and the process of it all that allows me to learn new techniques and tricks when I do it. You’re very talented and not all bike builders bring us through the nitty gritty of it all which is why your content really stands out from the rest. I really appreciate you and can’t get enough of the videos! Good onyah mate! 🤙🏻

Totally agree with you on the RM’s front mud guard, love the shape. Also I like your approach to restorations. It’s only original once.

I just found your channel. You do amazing work! I bought the ‘75 RM125 as soon as it hit the market and could kick myself for selling it in great condition for $300 to go away for college. DeCoster was my hero!😀 I hope you can find one of them one day! Also, I love Stevie Ray’s ‘Lenny’ in the background! Thanks for your videos from North Carolina!👍👍👍

I loved the 87 CR500 build. I followed that with great interest as I owned one from new. My first ever dirt bike was a used 1981 RM250 which was air cooled but had the same Full Floater rear suspension as this bike. I'm very interested to see how this build develops. BTW, I'm still waiting for my invite to come and test ride the CR500. It would be great content for your channel (if you ever wanted to get it dirty???) Keep up the great work.

Thanks Paul. Good taste in bikes! Thanks for the offer. I’ll get in touch if I need a pro to push them a bit. The CR might only go for a tuning date out then unfortunately just too original to give the beans. The 250 maybe a different story. Let’s see how it talks to me for the resto. Cheers for following along and your motivational comments.

Hey mate ,I've found that sometimes you can put your plastics through the vapour blaster and can save you a lot of time
@MyRestoration1

I’m going to try it although if the blaster makes bigger dents than 400 grit it might work against me when trying to finish but I’m going to try it thank you

I think if you keep it up with these type of videos you could have quite the following! 2Vintage is making a living at it, and there is no reason why you couldn’t be just as successful. I think part of the trick to 2Vintage’s success is making the *sounds*(high quality mic) and sights of working on bikes as engaging and pleasant as possible… which you seem to already have knack for already. Thanks for sharing your outstanding work and thought processes!

Greetings. where did you get your replacement plastics from? I have a 1983 RM 250 D under restoration and am battling to source spares. Being in South Africa, I get hammered with the exchange rate and postage/shipping. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there Marcel. Try JC Racing here in England. They are not OEM but that’s a pipe dream. Shape and colour look the same. Good luck
