These shorter and informative videos are the best. And probably get more views than the lengthy vids which tend to get boring. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Our ac went out for a full week during 100-112 f heat. We had eggs developing on our counter overnight. So glad our room temp is more conducive to keeping eggs. Outdoors is much easier for us. We are mostly raising for us, so it works. If we could keep them cooler in summer I know they would lay better. That’s also why we give them more space, so they can cool off better in summer. We are still getting more eggs than we need at the moment. We’ve preserved some for eating in winter in limewater. Going to preserve some more. I can’t wait till I can hatch more in mid September. We have a medical conference to go to and don’t want to leave incubator unattended or leave young chicks for friends to have to care for. Great information as usual. Thanks. So much bad info out there

My 2 cents. Collect eggs daily, especially if direct sun is an issue. keep eggs in safe temp. about 70-90 F. till incubation , I'm new so just a thought.

I haven't seen all of your videos yet. One thing I haven't seen yet is mortality rates ,post hatch. Heavy focus on hatch rates but what is normal mortality rates. See you at quail con.

Up to 10% the first week; losses after that should be negligible.

I might be wrong, but he does say in one of videos.... with that I think he did something with numbers in his other job. Which is why he says he loves numbers. Lol... can't remember either an analyst or accounting or something like that.

@@TheEldersHomestead That could be. As a person who was a "professor" for 15 years, I am now in a position to do what I want (but it must pay the bills). I really want to know what he used to do, because it helps explain his drive to become a LEADER in a niche market. Sam Walton was a sales guy? Jeff Bezos was on Wall Street.... It would really be interesting, many enquiring minds want to know??? FUN Enjoy QuailCon, I am in Belize starting a business, so can't get there.
