Awesome info!! I so LOVE watching both you and Terry from Coturnix Corner. I am just starting out, I have had 3 hatches, working on the 4th, but I have learned SO MUCH from both of you!! Keep it up. Your a wealth of knowledge!!

I had one hatch that even at 3 to 4 weeks were missing chest feathers and back feathers but were very. Active. I’m sure it was to low of protein that time because I switched feed to a mill and definitely was lower protein than they said. It was great for laying hens. But definitely babies need 30% protein..

Yeah I have hatched 100s. It was the only time I actually had another guy using that feed that told me his did that starting them out on low protein feed. But after a higher protein feed they all grew back.. higher protein from hatch is definitely important..

Good information Zach. One question. Can a brooder be too large? Square per per quail double the recommended amount, for example?
