I had one hatch that even at 3 to 4 weeks were missing chest feathers and back feathers but were very. Active. I’m sure it was to low of protein that time because I switched feed to a mill and definitely was lower protein than they said. It was great for laying hens. But definitely babies need 30% protein..

Yeah I have hatched 100s. It was the only time I actually had another guy using that feed that told me his did that starting them out on low protein feed. But after a higher protein feed they all grew back.. higher protein from hatch is definitely important..
