Last three hatches, I have been using puppy pads for the five days.. It absorbs more, and I have no issues of splayed eggs. After 5 days, they are on wire.

Hi Zach, video ideas. I have been wondering about this for several months. Can you do a video on the entire "supply chain". You show the breeder cages, but if you are replacing birds a lot, there must be a lot going on behind the scenes, especially if you are doing colors and new breeders of equal quality. Additionally, the standards for eating eggs step up. Also, you always say 3 to 3.5 per sq ft. but how many quail do you have in the cages and the size of the cage in sq ft, And how many "randomly" die over time. I have about 400 quail and seem to lose 1 every other day. Maybe they ran out of food or water, but not for long!!!!

Great info! Can you answer in three FAQ what to feed & how it changes as the birds get older? And why you would/would not encourage feeding certain things to older or younger or male or female birds?

Does quail have to have heat all winter ?

Thank you for all the information you provide. I know that you mentioned for balut you use standard eggs. For eating eggs, do you use standard or jumbo quail? Do customers expect the larger eggs size from the jumbos? What is the daily feed requirement difference between jumbos and standard quail?

Question I use a heat plate. Is it best to leave it dark or have a small light to help with growth. Not sure if they will want to rest all the time if it’s dark. Rest is good but I feel to much of anything is not good. Also it is very dark in my shed even during the day?

Space can hurt them more than help them. Here is a video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ_MYWyHbs-trpI

I plan on building stacked cages and I see doors hinged top, bottom or sides. Is there a consensus which is the safest and most convenient?

What are shrink wrapped eggs?
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
When temp and humidity drop it will shrink the egg and the chick can get stuck and not be able to get out
